Welcome back to Vice City. Welcome back to the 1980s.
From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile. Vice City, a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, was one of the most varied, complete and alive digital cities ever created. Combining open-world gameplay with a character driven narrative, you arrive in a town brimming with delights and degradation and given the opportunity to take it over as you choose.
To celebrate its 10 year anniversary, Rockstar Games brings Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to mobile devices with high-resolution graphics, updated controls and a host of new features including:
• Beautifully updated graphics, character models and lighting effects
• New, precisely tailored firing and targeting options
• Custom controls with a fully customizable layout

GTA at it's best
Everything carried over well from the Playstation 2. The touch controls aren't perfect, but they work really well considering all the options. Plus you can customize the controls by making the buttons bigger/smaller as well as rearrange them - great and helpful feature.
If you've played GTA on any other device you should know what to expect here. Great characters and open game world. Fun driving. Workable shooting mechanics.
Yes; iPad has advantage of bigger buttons and more screen. I played this game on my iPhone 5 and it was a blast. The small screen didn't cause any problems. RockStar did right by making us only have to pay once for both iPad and iPhone/iPod.
I found that putting the camera right up behind the car made driving easier. This was something I didn't do on PS2.
Also recommend GTA III (3). I prefer vice city, but this is the game that kicked off the GTA craze and for good reason. It's a great game!
Looking forward to seeing San Andreas make its way to iOS. Looking forward to GTA V on console/PC. Just recently bought the "GTA Complete" pack off Steam.
RockStar makes some darn good games! Now stop reading my opinion and go see for yourself!
Needs Update Bad!
Recently I've been experiencing a lot of graphic lag lately. Before the 7.0.3 and 7.0.0 it worked fine but now it just is bad.
I'll try to explain this my best but when ever you start the game the graphics are there and then there not. They just flash the image they're supposed to show. It wants to show a steady image but instead it flashes. The graphics are just going out of whack and thats a BIG problem with any game.
I'm thinking it's something with the new software update that messed up the game or it might just be a bug in the game. Any way please get this game fixed.
Its frustrating, hard and boring to play this game now. Its really not fun when your on a 4 star wanted level being chased by the cops, can't see the road and then just fall into the water and drown.
I know it's just a game but its one of my top games on my phone. With being Angry Birds, MC4, etc coming after.
I've tried uninstalling the game installing it again and again and no luck. I've restarted my phone then tried no luck and I close all my apps before I play a game and still no luck.
If anyone is experiencing theses problems and possibly fixed there problems please tell me how to fix it in the reviews. Thank you
Hope it gets fixed,
Brings back childhood memories + serious review
I originally played GTA: VC on PS2 with my father when I was 11 or 12. Back then all I wanted to do was drive around and shoot people while my father actually did the missions. Occasionally we would take turns on the harder missions. I've kept saying to myself that I would take out my PS2 again and seriously play through the game, but that never happened. I'm happy, but worried, to say that I spent most of the day playing this app.
So far it is a seamless transition to a mobile platform. I'm playing this on an iPad 2 and every once in a while the game slows down, but a simple pause and resume breaks the cycle and its running fine. I think its just from loading too many items and the pause dumps previously loaded items. Movement make take a bit of getting used to, as with most mobile games. Controls are configurable including their position on screen. Overall a great game and would highly recommend to anyone, especially those who played the console version.
