This is a very well-crafted game. I probably wouldn't have taken a chance on it at full price, but after playing it I will recommend it to my friends and am happy to support the developers by buying episode 2.
The game progresses at a good pace, and I never felt cheated by a puzzle solution that didn't make sense. If anything, I might have preferred more difficult puzzles, although it's nice not to get stuck on any one thing for very long. I'd say the difficulty level strikes a good balance that allows both adults and children to enjoy playing.
Solid voice work, a catchy soundtrack, interesting character design, and gorgeous environments combine to make this a no-brainer purchase for any fan of classic point-and-click adventures.
Slow going at the start, but hang in there!
I agree with others that the game suffers from too much narration and storyline at the outset and it takes a while to make real progress. The characters are also a bit grating, in my perspective, and the Jamaican rasta stereotype gets old fast. After getting bored and stopping, I picked it up again a few days ago and the "good stuff" starts about 15-20 minutes into gameplay. By "good," I mean it became an entertaining, old school point and click adventure game, and I was actually enjoying the reggae soundtrack by the end. I have already purchased Chapter 2.
Best game I've played in a while!
This is such a refreshing game! The story is fun, the setting and characters are unique, the music is very good, the interface and effects are well thought out, the art is amazing (especially the details such as shadows and reflections ), and the puzzle challenge is perfect! I really really like this game and the developers should be extremely proud to be producing such high quality work! Anybody who plays this game won't be disappointed. The best point-and-click I've played since Sierra on PC in my childhood.
