Yes, I got this app for the Pokemon master challenge game. Yes this game is an April Fools joke. No, it doesn't do augmented reality like in the video. No, you don't have to be near a Pokemon to catch it, just tap the picture of it to catch it. Yes, the phase during which the prize available is over. You have to zoom in a LOT to see the Pokemon. Pokemon will be found in majorly populated areas, like Paris, France and Los Angeles, California, but they also hide in random places, like uninhabited islands that no one has ever heard of. This makes a challenging game, but it needs more... Substance. Sadly, Google is not going to fly people all the way to California from all around the world just for a joke, but there are rumors that they actually will give prizes to the people who actually completed the challenge. Yours truly included. The challenge ended at 2:00 PM PDT, or 4:00 PM CST, on April 1, 2014.
Google is the pioneer for Google Earth and Google map. It hurts to see people to go ahead with the best Navigation like Sygic and wanted to sell their app for so much money and the app doesn't work at all when you try to do search and it take forever and eventually to give wrong results. I was so scared and ran very fast. Google need to to on top on these matters because they have everything in place already in order to create an excellent Navigation even though we have to pay. Apple map is so worthless to the point that they are using TOMTOM for their app and I have to admit that I don't use it any more and I go buying Scout. I believe Google why not concentrate on this matters to make an excellent map. Someone is right that there is no night mode and needs a lot more functions and features such as access into contact. And then I am willing to buy the app like I bought Google drive and I love it.
It has some bugs as all apps do but overall, it's great. Here are a few things to work on. Sometimes When I navigate from another app to maps it doesn't work properly. Then when I go back and try it a 2nd or 3rd time, it works fine. I believe there are no waypoints (that would be a nice feature). Just as I'm arriving at my supposed destination, it shuts down and tells me I have arrived when I have no clue where the place is. I think the search has gotten worse. When I search for something, I want to search around my current location unless I specify otherwise. Also, sometimes I don't know the exact name of a destination. I almost always have to switch to a web browser to find those places. If there were someway to tell it to alert maps about road closures, that would be nice. In downtown Scottsdale, the other day it tried to send me the wrong way down a 1 way road.
