Not user friendly

Finding where all of the settings for MLA format (line spacing, header, page break, etc.) is not only not obvious, the icons all look pretty similar, and there are no words to indicate what they are (when hovering over or otherwise). There’s no way to change preferred font and font size to default. Since the update it no longer closes out of Word and brings up an old (random) document (not the document you were just working on) and not saving your current work when you go switch tabs and go to use the internet or books, or literally any other app. I’m pleased by this fact, but I am now also extremely paranoid and save my documents like I’m extremely paranoid. I dislike that when I command S, there’s sometimes no indication it has saved, and other times the screen sort of blips and I can tell. This leads me to going in and manually saving and now I have Document, Document copy, Document copy copy, Document copy copy copy, etc... times a million. It won’t let me save a new copy over an old copy. It asks if I wish to replace that Document, and when I click yes, it tells me I can’t... utterly useless. I’m considering using Google Docs, and maybe OpenOffice, I used to really like OpenOffice... both of those are FREE and I’m questioning why the hell I’m paying for Word when it has so many issues and things I dislike. I think at the end of this semester I’m going to try OpenOffice again. Sigh... it’s NOT the Word I grew up with! Quite disappointing.

Laggy and frustfrating.

This app is laggy and wonky as hell. It have a great concept but it is still just a great concept. The lagging is real. You can even see when you try to scroll the pages, it is janky and irritating. Typing is lagged, sometimes a few words behind. ‘Drawing’ is a nice feature but the writings moved a bit after you remove the pencil, so it became really not precise. If I’m writing with my pencil, it shift either to the right or left a bit from where I jot down, making a very not smooth, irritating writing experience. The eraser is even worse. You can erase a word and then the next one won’t, and it brings forward the keyboard instead. The only fix I could do was when that happened, I turn on drawing with fingers and erases with my finger instead. So annoying. If you want to move your writing, it won’t select more than one object at a time, which means you have to move letters by letters, unlike onenote which you could lasso a bunch of stuff. It’s just so annoying.

If you’re wondering why I didn’t use onenote, I do use onenote. It’s just this one class that give options of lecture notes in docs format, and we have a bunch of definitions and calculations in a single lecture note, so I typed when it were definitions, and write when doing calculations.

Write great copy from your tablet, simply by speaking!

I am sitting here on my couch, looking out the window on a beautiful summer afternoon. I am speaking these words into my tablet. I’m not even typing! This is the most fun I’ve ever had, ok well, maybe not ‘ever’. I have downloaded the Microsoft Word app, and have signed into my account. Since I have an arm injury it’s been difficult for me to type. Going on like this though, I can really get into storytelling mode. I think I could write really fast like this. Maybe I could even write a book in a short time. To be honest, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do this. So I took it for test drive, and it worked! You deserve the unlimited freedom of this technology that can set you free too. No more writers block. No more tired fingers. No more arm cramps. The creative juices are flowing so fast I can’t even hold them back! I just want to share this with the world! I want you to have this freedom too!

All you’ll need to get started is to download the Microsoft Word app on your tablet and sign in to your Microsoft account.
