Must the dosage of a medication be adapted in patients with renal impairment or on dialysis ?
You may determine with this app whether dosage is necessary in patients with renal impairment.
Based on an estimate of your patient’s renal function, you will have access to simple recommendations on medications dosage adjustments:
-OUI, dosage must be reduced
-NON, the medication can be used at its usual dosage
-ND, there are no data in the international medical literature allowing to conclude
This app has been developed by the clinical pharmacists and nephrologists of Service ICAR and SiteGPR® at the University Hospital of Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, France. It allow you to easily know whether a medication requires its dosage to be adjusted according to your patients’ renal function (Creatinine clearance or glomerular filtration rate).
Dosage adjustment is based on a renal function estimate, which can be calculated with the Renal Eval® app. In one click, this app will calculate the renal function of your patient and will give you 3 results, simultaneously:
-Cockcroft-Gault (in ml/min)
-MDRD (in ml/min/1,73m2)
-MDRD adjusted (in ml/min) with adjustment according to your patient’s body surface
The body mass index (BMI) will also be calculated.
The Renal Eval® app may be accessed directly from Renal Adapt®.
