Plants vs. Zombies 2: Yes & No

A long, long time ago...I can still remember, how PvZ used to make me smile...

I played the PC Game with my Dad for a long time growing up, and I loved everything about it: The soundtrack, the gameplay, the originality. It was a fun-loving game that would keep you coming back. I waited for a long time for a sequel that would outdo the first (and I'm still waiting). Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the love and care PopCap has put into it, but I feel that some of the strategy and gameplay has been lost on iOS. I do wish you would add more mini games, but at least Vasebreaker is nice. Today, though, I felt compelled to write a review. I went to my daily Piñata Party and found...a Progressive Commercial blatantly where it should be. I do wish there we no ads. I think it's not PopCap's fault (love you all), but the greedy hands of EA Games. They've made a whole mess out of this game, and I tolerated the ads until today. I can't take it anymore—kids aren't going to say "Hey Dad, I played this game and it says we should get Progressive insurance!" This freemium mess spoiled a gaming industry that was headed for the stars. To be honest, just play PvZ on the PC for a genuine experience. PopCap, I still love Bejeweled, and I'm grateful for your enthusiasm, but I'm tired of the dozens of ways this game tries to make $$$ from shoddy advertising and costly plants.

Absolutely Great, But the Bugs

This game is absolutely fabulous! I can't stop playing it because I still have to get past the ocean levels. Still though, there are a lot of bugs in the latest update that's keeping me From getting gems in endless mode. To start off, it won't let you pick another card after playing a few levels and if you go to press "Retire" at that point, it won't let you go to the map. You have to press "Save and Quit" in the middle of the game (just to help). Another note is that if you die (if the zombies get to your house), it'll start you back at level one with all of the plants you chose in the last session of endless and you can't move on from level one. For example, if you pass level 1, it'll stay at level 1 and there's no proceeding or turning back.
Another glitch is the vase breaker stuff. All of my progress (except for my perks and high score for vase breaker endless) reset.
Last but probably not least, I randomly got 12 gems. I don't know if you guys did this or if I'm losing my mind, but thanks. I'm 19 away from the dandelion. :)
That's all for now. Please take this comment into hand.

Usually, I don't write reviews but seeing as I've played Plants VS Zombies before and thoroughly enjoyed it, I can comfortably say that this is sad. The gameplay is flawless and it still fun, don't get me wrong. But when it all comes down to it, it's a money grabber. There are situations in the game where you have no choice but to spend real money to complete a level. Prices for plants are ridiculous. Downloadable content for major titled console games don't even cost as much as what you'd pay for a plant. A plant. That's one single plant. And even then there's no guarantee the next level will be a decent sweep either. Might as well buy another plant right? Let's get real here, nobody works a minimum wage job to spend $20 on a plant in PvZ. I earn more than the average, and I still think that those prices are full of feces. I won't be spending real money on this game ever, because I know for a fact it won't get better than this. Popcap, you're making money off of all of us, and I commend you for your genius, but you're still a douche. Whoever set your prices, or even decided it would be a grand idea to include in game purchases with such terribly set amounts, should get their brains eaten by a zombie ten times over.
