Stick to PVZ 1
Lemme start off saying that this game is very good, however as it continued like many games it went away from the classic idea and went downhill. 1st off, there are way too many premium plants that are literally modified classic plants that are unnecessary and make you feel like you are not getting the whole game, 2nd the leveling system short after the release of modern day was 100% dumb, it's a strategy game that allows you to switch to plants with different SET damages and tactics to help you beat a level, by adding this system, they have already defeated plant selection purpose, in other words a peashooter and a repeater could do the same damage, so why ever take the repeater? The leveling system and the updates this game got ruined for me slowly to a point that I found it no more fun. I would rather play the 1st version of this game than the one we have now, simply because PvZ 1 is better at this point, with more logic behind their game, and no stupid updates to change the once great game.
Unwinnable levels mean you have to pay big $$$
My family LOVED the first game. Took us weeks to win, but we did finally win. For PVZ2, Popcap capitalized on their success and went too far. This new version is 'free' but there are lots of chances to spend tons of money - $99 for one set of coins is just one example of DOZENS - a person could spend hundreds (thousands?) through the in-app purchases.
But along the way, while it starts easily enough, they create levels that simply cannot be passed. The exception MIGHT be using a new plant that costs $5 or $10, but there's the catch. You'll never know. The odds are that the newly purchased plant won't do anything, so you'll need to try (buy) again. (There are dozens of purchasable plants, which you often can't try first)
Even the free 'party pinata' games, sponsored by a company are eventually too hard to win, forcing you to watch ad after ad until you just stop. (For gamers, Popcap hasn't seemed to look into the term 'rage quit')
I'd love to give them a good review but their hunger for money turns this game into a black hole where you'll leave poor and wondering why you wasted your time. Try something else.
Just one thing
I would give this game a 5 but theres one thing that needs improvement. That one thing is that the only way to get new plants for free is with diamonds and it is very difficult to get a lot of diamonds. Theres gotta be some way to get these diamonds much more easily. I mean there is ad watching and the challenges but they don't give you that much. Plant v zombies! Please hear me out. One of the most exciting things about the game was getting new plants. And you pretty much took that away. Therefore, the game is not as exciting as it was when i first started. Give us more DIAMONDS.
