“It controls just so perfectly..”, IGN.
Chopper Mike is a challenging, fast-paced, arcade helicopter time trial game featuring super smooth graphics and amazing controls.
Don't be fooled by the charming graphics, this game will test you to the limit! Have you got what it takes to beat Expert Mode?
Fly through 3 difficulty modes and 48 levels, picking up gems, avoiding collisions, and landing as quickly as you can! Skillful play will be rewarded with mysterious bonus aircraft!
Complete the levels, beat the target times, then replay to beat your best times!
Fun and challenging
The music and artwork are charming and easy to get sucked into.
The controls are surprisingly tight and very manageable. The difficulty ramps up significantly after the Easy pack of levels. The levels are still very possible to complete (even perfectly), but completing them under the par time for the third star is pretty tough! Of course, that means it's really rewarding when you pull it off.
Definitely worth a purchase. It's a good pickup for anybody who likes games you can play in bite-sized chunks but are also fun enough to merit an hour-long game session. Fits within that easy-to-learn-tough-to-master category. Stars and unlockable vehicles reward your efforts.
Good but too hard!
Simple, clean graphics that are appealing. Solid controls - virtual stick on left side of screen for movement (forward, backward, left and right), with an ascend button on the right side of the screen. Lots of neatly designed levels.
However, the goal times for the normal difficulty and above are way too hard. After acing all of the easy levels and unlocking the UFO which is a fairly fast and maneuverable chopper, I'd thought I'd at least be in the ballpark of the normal goal times, but no, even on levels where I make virtually no mistakes, my times are still over a second past the goals! I feel that this will severely turn off any casual gamers.
Reduce the goal times a bit, and you've got four stars.
Cool but difficult
The graphics are great and the basic premise of the game is great as well, but the reason I gave this game 2 stars is because of the controls. The controls are solid like people say, however, I found it very difficult to manage the height of the helicopter. Not only this, but also the direction controller is difficult as well. The controls get easier but they still take some time to get the job done. This makes it very hard to get the reward points for the fast star. I tried using the red helicopter for speed but it is even harder to control. Maybe you will find it easier, but for me it was pretty rough.
