The Move More app motivates you to become more active by making you fully aware of how much time you are spending being inactive. It tracks up to five activity levels with the simple tap of a button when you change from one level to another. Thus it gives you more information than simple step counters.

The Move More app helps reduce hazards to your health from inactivity. Being inactive and especially sitting too much increases your risk of diabetes and heart disease, contributes to weight gain, and can even shorten your life span, according to the latest medical research. Daily exercise is helpful but is not enough by itself. Simply put, most of us need to become more active by sitting less and moving more.

"Move Your App" is better for me and FREE

Long story short, if you need a "set it and forget it" style app to remind you to stop being lazy, this isn't it. If you are looking for an app where you manually track your time stationary and exercising, then this will work.

Honestly, I'm sorry I paid for this. I don't normally pay for apps but took a chance. It doesn't have the functionality that I was looking for but it might be exactly what someone else needs. You have to tell it when you're standing, when you're sitting, when you're exercising, etc.

"MoveYourApp" is a free app that uses your phones gyroscope to determine your movement and will let you know when you haven't moved in a while. You set the length of time and the days and times of concern. For me it was exactly what I was looking for. Now if only there was a similar app for what I eat 😉.

Doesn't track movement for you


Like others who bought it, I was expecting this to work like a step counter does to automatically track my movement. It does NOT.

I need an app to remind me to take breaks from moving/walking - I have a health condition (POTS) and I need to rest frequently.

I wanted to like this app, but I may as well have used the built-in timer on my phone. You have to manually log when you have begun sitting, moving, exercising, etc, and then remember to manually log when you start doing a different activity.

It's a step up from writing down your activities in a notebook, basically. If that sounds like too much work for you, don't get this app.

There IS a little "i" button where it explains how to use the timers and all. But, the only way to choose a length of time is via a slider, and it's very hard to land on a precise number. Especially with the small increments I need to use (3-10 minutes).

If you need separate alert timers for these activities, and you don't mind manually choosing which one to use every single time, then I guess this app will work for you. But I'm gonna have to keep looking.

Epic Fail, Avoid


App was abandoned, buttons don't work. It only shows sitting 100%, zero for walking, & exercising. If you want to pay money for a picture, than waste your money.
