Great Service with a Couple of Flaws
I love the Marvel Unlimited service. Spending 70 bucks to read all of the Marvel comics I want for a year is a great deal for me, especially with the added bonus of nicely curated events. Some of the older comics aren't cut up as nicely as the newer ones (some of the 90s Inhumans are particularly hard to read on mobile), but on the whole it works well.
That being said, the app has a few major flaws, the biggest of which being the inability to add reading lists to your library. I'm working through the original Civil War event and it's pretty annoying to effectively lose my place about half the time I read an issue with a major character. I finished a Black Panther tie in issue just now, but the suggested list at the end was the Black Panther character spotlight. That's all fine and good, he's a cool character and I'll probably go back and read that list later, but right now I want the next CW issue. The app should be smart enough to recognize that I've been reading through that list for the last hour. Better yet, give me an option to tell it. I don't want to have to dig through the "Discover" list, then the list itself to try to find my place again.
If it always worked it would be 6 stars
First off, the people complaining about pages 1-3 only showing up probably aren't logged in. Or if they are a logout and re-log-in will probably work. Certain comics not loading at all is a real problem though. Certain random issues do not show up no matter what you do. I eventually deleted the app and re-downloaded and it worked for the particular issue that was giving me issues. What's frustrating is that when this doesn't happen (and it used to be a pretty rare thing), this app is a true must have for any Marvel fan. It is well worth the monthly price.
The four star review is agonizing. Even with the flaws, I still think it's almost a 5. 4.8 or so. I really want to still give it a five because of how much I love the app but I can't justify it with the bugs.
Great service, good app
I highly recommend getting a marvel unlimited subscription if you're a marvel fan. The selection is enormous and the sorting system is great (you can search by character, creator, etc.). Pages sometimes take a while to load but it's alright. I've had this subscription for less than six months s and have already ready an amount of comics equal to hundreds of dollars, so it's a great deal, especially if you're like me and enjoy reading comics over collecting. Highly recommend this. Way better than comiXology unlimited. Best service for comic readers
