Fun and difficult, lack of options for controls makes it suffer
The game is great, you control a white ball down a crazy course with no walls. If you fall off the course the game will let you recover by "skipping" some check points and landing on the track below. If you land back on the track after falling the game resumes and the camera shifts to put you back on the course correctly. But my problem was not with the difficulty, it was with the lack of options for the controls.
The controls are these 2 tiny little arrows on the edge of the screen, but if your finger doesn't touch exactly on this arrow you could see your ball just going straight as you frustrate with the controls to resume command, but by then you missed the track and fall until the game resets.
To make this game good, they need more then 1 control option like tilt control and push control but make the arrows the entire side pushable. And change the sensitivity at which the ball can be controlled left and right, how fast it can turn basically. Then the game becomes about skill and landing these cool jumps.
Game reminds me of jumping the tracks on mario kart 64 on rainbow world, the nostalgic feeling came back when i played this and if they can get the controls right, then they got themselves a good game.
Great Game but it could have a little more in it...
This game is great and is really fun and addictive, but it could use a little more stuff to do. It could have like different balls, different roads, different backgrounds, and maybe some kind of trail behind the ball, all of which u can get with coins or some kind of currency. This currency could be received as a reward at the end of a run, with the amount being determined by your score plus extra coins that are placed around the road and can be collected. You could also make challenges to complete that reward currency, balls, road styles, and backrounds. There could even be a way to customize your own ball and be able to play as it as well as share it with other people, and a way to upload your custom ball and let anyone see it and "download" it, and the person who originally made the ball would get rewards for people using their custom ball.
Some more things that could be added are road themes, new obstacles, different difficulties, new game modes, power ups, and maybe even some kind of level editor/creator, where you can create your own roads and play them, along with sharing them with other people. There could also be daily rewards that give the things I was talking about earlier.
Another thing that could be added is more game center achievements/challenges.
So yea, overall, the game itself is a great game, but it could use more things like the things that I said.
Uhhh ... I've Fallen & I Can't Stay Up?!?
I've tested Apps for Devs all over the World and this reminds me SO MUCH of a game I tested for a European Developer.
Not the gameplay, rather the initial difficulty. I explained my frustration at the level of difficulty to the Developer and urged him to either;
a). gradually raise the level of difficulty or
b). add a 'beginner' mode.
I warned him saying; if I'm already disinterested in your game (because there was no chance to learn) believe me others are going to feel exactly the same as I do.
You're limiting your prospective buyers to an unacceptably low level. Yes, you'll generate sales from the few people who try the game and instantly achieve some success or simply love the gameplay, but you'll never generate enough revenue to realize a return on your investment.
People are going to get frustrated, angry and soon after they'll simply delete your App and move on to a game they enjoy playing.
His reply; the game is supposed to be hard and that's not going to change.
And those games never did update or change ... they never considered or met the needs of the buyer. And they then paid the ultimate price when doing business - they lost the family business.
I've given this App a fair shot and already I've no desire to invest time in this game
... it just didn't do it for me.
