Built by one guy using the power of the Unreal 3D engine, Kingpin Lanes is the first game to offer the entire bowling alley experience, featuring:
~ A fully explorable environment, with findable and interactive objects, a functioning Pro Shop, and more.
~ Five fully voiced and animated characters, each with their own amusing personalities and objectives.
~ Five outrageous Challenge Lanes, letting you bowl against obstacles and challenges in a Junkyard, a Casino, a Rooftop Penthouse, a Cellar, and the Top Secret "Roswell Revisited"!
~ A fully interactive arcade with four playable Mini-Games!
~ Pro Shop upgrades, skills, mojo ball-handling, new balls, cheats and more!
Kingpin Lanes plays nice with your on-board music, letting you create your own soundtrack as you bash pins and embarrass your opponents.
With breathtakingly unparallelled 3D graphics, full immersion, stunning physics, and outrageous bowling challenges and environments, Kingpin Lanes is the ultimate mobile bowling experience!
Fun game, great looking... Well done
Very enjoyable, with lots of nice touches.
I really enjoy this game, and have found it to be uniquely engaging among the bowlers I've played over the years. The theming is great! I love that vintage bowling alley feel, but also enjoy that the challenge lanes are creative, different, and, yes, challenging. It's fun to explore the alley in search of pins and the arcade games are a nice touch.
I know that bowling is the main point of the game, but I wish the pool table could be played. Would also love to see that boring green wall picture by the pool cue sticks replaced with a couple of functional old-school pinball tables, or as someone else suggested, a functional jukebox...maybe even one that plays the music that's on your device.
Some glitches need attention. Some of the power-ups in KittyKat Casino don't work (triple ball has never worked for me). Stone was positioned in the middle of the ball return when he was bowling, standing about one or two feet too far to the right the whole time. I noticed a strike I bowled got changed to a 9-pin knockdown. The intro either plays too long before an opt-out appears, or plays too short and cuts out before you can even opt out.
Do the glitches get in the way of the fun? No, not really. Overall, the game is solid and very entertaining, with beautiful graphics, great voice acting, decent pin action, and a unique twist on the ball controls. Lots of clever touches kept me smiling at every turn.
I am really amazed that this was made by one person. I'm also a developer and I can't imagine the time that went into this. Very.... Very... Fun game. My only complaint is I wish there was music when your playing... Maybe a jukebox in the corner would really bring the bowling ally alive... Otherwise I LOVE IT!
