Why learn to code? Computer Science is among the highest paid college degrees and programming jobs are growing at 2x the national average. By the year 2020, there will be a projected 1.4 million computer jobs but only 400,000 CS students. Even if kids don’t grow up to be programmers, the problem solving and critical thinking skills they will obtain playing Hopscotch are necessary for every career path. Hopscotch was inspired by MIT’s Scratch.

Recommended for kids ages 8 to ∞.

Great but...

This app rocks I can make awesome games, art, stories, or anything I can imagine. The only problem is... IT CRASHES A LOT. I like to make complicated games. Hopscotch lets me do that but it crashes. it would be the best thing ever if I could make complicated games and it would not crash. Im sure other people could too. By the way i am exited for the sounds that are coming out.

Such a copy

This is obviously a failed copy of scratch. The best I can do with it is make cheesy animations, games are pretty much impossible with the annoying layout. There isn't an undo button either. I erased a really big chunk of script because of that stupid x. You can't even make your own sprites or backgrounds. You have to use the tedious leave a trail which is extremely annoying, just because you are too lazy to put in a feature where you can actually draw. This will never live up to scratch.

17 and loving it. 😛

I'm seriously half stupid when it comes to trying to create games. I've tried anything from Unity to RPGMaker and even resorted to Scratch. Nothing was doing it for me and I really just wanted something to do in study hall that involved making games. So thank you for making this! However, iphone programming would be great. 💩
