Dr. Lord Evilstein has kidnapped a princess, and now his evil lair is crawling with do-gooders. In this reverse spin on tower defense it’s your job to defend your home turf from heroes trying to save the day. View your domain from a side-view perspective, placing traps and unleash minions on your unwitting foes to protect the fortress. Touch and drag up and down on the tower to navigate floors. Across three chapters and 45 levels you’ll outwit intruders that attempt to invade your castle from all sides—ladders allowing them entrance on higher floors, underground drills to start on dungeon floors closer to your fair maiden. Keep the princess safely in your clutches and send those heroes cryin’ back to momma.

I've been a HUGE fan of Grumpyface's games in the past (Bring Me Sandwiches!, Mutant Fridge Mayhem, Wispin, Ghost Toasters and Super Mole Escape), so when I found out this was developed by them, I had to grab it - and I'm SO GLAD that I did! If you're familiar with Tiny Heroes (a fantastic 'castle defense' game where you also place traps) then you'll feel right at home. If not, you should get ready to be blown away at how incredibly fun it is to set up defenses in this manor. There's tons of content as well as endless levels, loads of traps (along with 'manual' traps that you can trigger exactly when you want to), each with plenty of permanent upgrades and plenty of different heroes to take out each having their own strengths and weeknesses. Couple all of that with GameCenter achievements, in-game objectives, 3 leaderboards and humor that fits perfectly with other adult swim games (and shows, of course). Castle Doombad is VERY HIGHLY recommended... by me... =oD
Good, but not great
I absolutely love playing this, to be the bad guy is incredibly refreshing! But, there's always that but, right? I have beat several levels and don't get the crown for them, even though I beat them more than once. I totally agree that it is unbalanced with defenses verses heroes. I too lost upgrades, I didn't crash, just shut it off, when I get back on they're gone. I really don't like the banner that hangs right in front of the fight action when you put too many minions, which is unfair, or put a trap wrongly. What's with the stomper not killing heroes? And what's with losing all your scream energy between levels? It's hard enough to earn it, then you lose it? The upgrade feature is a joke. After you upgrade a few times, it keeps taking your coins to upgrade, but there's no more upgrade. It's a great game, but it needs to be more user friendly
Serious balance issues
I love adult swim games, so it's with great disappointment that I say that this game does a horrendous balancing weapons/minions versus enemy types. Most levels can be easily cleared by leveled up auto traps, mostly the floor spikes and harpoons plus ceiling tentacles and AC unit. The minions, even upgraded are nearly totally useless, either being too weak, easily killed, take too long to recharge, and worst of all, targeting singular enemies at a time - plus with the minion number per floor capped, you can't even increase their numbers enough to give them a fighting chance. Some levels are also very unbalanced, putting you in a position where it is nigh impossible to stop attackers from reaching the damsel without resorting to in app purchases. Even now with nearly all traps fully upgraded, these levels are way too unbalanced. Moreover, the manual trips are exceptionally useless.
