★★★★ - Gamezebo 4/5:
"Besides its brilliantly challenging, but never too difficult puzzles, the entire experience is simultaneously soothing and uneasy. The mystery of Kyubo’s imprisonment and the small bits of info received along the way, set against atmospheric piano tones, are eerily enticing."
★★★★ - Arcade Sushi 7/10:
"In perhaps its strangest bit of experimentation, Kyubo has pulled off something that sets itself apart from every other mobile game out there now."
★★★★ - 148Apps 4/5:
"It’s a clever puzzle platformer in need of a little tweaking, but what’s already there is really neat."

Kyubo is a puzzle action game that combines thinking and action. Completing each level will require you both perfect timing when moving or jumping and accurate decision making on how to move the cubes and in which order to disarm traps, enable triggers, access far locations and finally getting to the exit door and move on to the next room. Only completing the level using the spirits the minimum necessary will award you a crown! Will you get all of them?
Don't miss the in-game tips, they might contain extremely useful information about the gameplay and tricks you can use to complete levels and collect the crowns.
We don't have any in-app purchase or ads serving business model, we strongly believe players should get what they paid for. Once you pay you get any content the game can provide you.
Kyubo is the first game from Chestnut Games, a company founded by Marco Rapino former Lead Programmer at Rovio who has been leading the development of worldwide top selling games like Angry Birds Seasons and Bad Piggies.

A lot of fun
I had a lot of fun finishing this game and going back to try for the crowns. It is good for short bursts or a marathon play session. If it is possible to choose control layouts it might be fun to set up co-op play by having the controls for the blocks on the top of the screen and the platforming at the bottom. If you're worried about understanding the Italian-English, it's not that bad. Just think of it as bonus puzzles in a puzzle game! Seriously, everything was understandable, and I couldn't find any language faults in the storyline bits. :)
Needs landscape mode or better controls
Kyubo is easily a 5-star game but the developer needs to release an update addressing the current control scheme. We either need the option to play in landscape (which probably wouldn't work as many of the levels require you to work your way up vertically) or a better button layout. The iPhone 5/iPod touch (5th Gen) display is simply too small to comfortably play Kyubo with its current controls. On a brighter note, the art style is gorgeous, the main character is awesome-looking, and the puzzle mechanics are a refreshing twist on old genre tropes. If the dev addresses the controls, this is a 5-star game.
Would be great but...
For the love of god, let me turn it sideways...this should not be a vertical game. Really takes away from the gameplay.
