It’s hard enough to keep up with popular culture, much less take the time to think it through. Every other week, Christ and Pop Culture delivers six or seven pieces that will help you identify crucial trends, events, and cultural artifacts and examine them purposefully. Every issue will feature two in-depth features, a handful of shorter articles, and recommendations of movies, music, games, and other cultural items that interest us.
Christ and Pop Culture has existed since 2007 as a podcast, a website, a web magazine, and now this monthly magazine. It is written by passionate and knowledgeable authors who also publish in popular outlets including but not limited to Paste Magazine, Christianity Today, Mockingbird, Relevant, Filmwell, Kill Screen, Mere Orthodoxy, Unwinnable, Think Christian, and The Gospel Coalition.
Christ and Pop Culture is published once every two weeks. The app is a free download that includes one issue and a weeklong free trial. After that, auto-renewing subscriptions are $2.99 for a month or $29.99 for a year. Your subscription revenues directly support the writing, editing, and production of Christ and Pop Culture.

Great content, nice format
I am super excited to see one of my favorite online publications come to a nice micro-publishing format. I was sending almost all of the articles from the site to Instapaper, anyway. Buying a years subscription was an easy choice. The writers are top notch and the content is always thought provoking.
I really like the app and the resemblance to 'The Magazine'. I would like to see two features added: night view and a way to change the font size. On my iPod, the font size is huge and those are pretty standard features for these kinds of publications.
I would definitely recommend trying this app and if you like the content as much as I do, buy a sub.
The “and” is beautiful
There are a lot of (often ill-conceived) voices out there paying attention to Christian doctrine, and using theology as an excuse to ignore the realities going on in our present world. There are a lot of people paying close attention to our culture’s vices and virtues, but often even Christian critics tend to lose their focus on Christianity while trying to understand our world.
Then there’s Christ and Pop Culture. A collection of authors who insist that orthodox Christianity has something crucial to say to us today, but isn’t afraid to look at the ways culture (both secular and churchy) actually works. And they do this while speaking English, rather than Academese.
Great writers with a great perspective.
I've been a reader of Christ and Pop Culture for the last couple of years, and over those years, I've seen them really develop as a publication. This app is the latest stage in the development, and it's a great one. I can't think of any periodical I'd recommend more. Take the time to read it, subscribe to it, and enjoy it.
