Not enough tennis
I received Tennis Channel Plus as a gift and downloaded this app to watch the French Open. I don't have cable, only AppleTV so I don't otherwise have access to regular Tennis Channel. This app doesn't work reliably enough on my iPhone to justify the cost. A few minutes in to watching and I get a "this account is in use on another device" error and have to completely restart to continue watching. also there is no info on when the matches that are being replayed are from - and due to the time zone difference with most Grand Slams, rain delays etc, matches are replayed later on TC Plus but you don't know which day (sometimes even which year!) the match is from and without a year marker on the courts (which I always have wanted - tournament directors if you're out there why not add "2017" to the court paint?!) you have to research to see what you are watching.
Honestly Tennis Channel figure out the licensing issues and just give us what's on regular tennis channel it'd be better than the TC Plus lineup and we paid good money for this!
Okay, as far as it goes
For anyone hoping to use this app for TC Everywhere, make sure your carrier is supported. Xfinity is not, at least in my area, so I only use the app for TC Plus. It would be great if TC and Xfinity could come to some agreement about this for non-TC Plus users.
One warning about TC Plus: Don't expect to find every match from every tournament, or even necessarily the most important ones. I'm not sure how they decide which ones to stream, but their choices seem a little random to me. On the other hand, they do have an extensive collection of matches in their on-demand library. There seems to be a delay of a day or two after a match is played before it's available on demand.
Just one big gripe about the on-demand player: It would be really helpful if it would return to your last position in a recording so that if you stop watching and come back later, you don't have to fiddle with the slider trying to figure out where you left off.
Annual Pass = Waste of Money
I got the annual pass because it was advertised that I could watch the French Open matches and ESPN3 was not showing them. Turns out that the Tennis Channel did not have permission to show the finals, but that was not disclosed to me when I signed up for the annual pass. I got quite the surprise when I tried to watch the women's singles finals and they were not showing it. I sent an email asking about how to watch the finals and I also got a fairly terse email back. I felt pretty bamboozled since they knew all along that they did not have the rights to show the finals yet they advertised that signing up for the annual pass would allow the viewer to watch all of the French Open. I also tried to get a partial refund due to the false advertising, but they refused.
I wanted to write this as a warning to others. Don't do what I did and sign up for the annual pass. It is a waste of money.
