A solid game
I would've hated this game because I can't download it on my iPhone 5, but I got it for iPad. So here's my review.
The graphics are on the lines of good. Just don't compare this to your console modern warfare. The controls take some getting used to. I'd advise you use an mfi (made for iOS) game controller for this game. Don't worry iPad users, there's the steel series stratus for you. The biggest pro, in my opinion, is the portable COD concept of this game. The campaign missions are fun, drawing from MW and BO2 concepts, and there are side missions that pop up daily, which makes me coming back for more.
The graphics generated for the characters faces is poor, the maps aren't the greatest, there is no HUD customization, and some weapons need lots of game currency which requires an IAP:( There's also no online multiplayer
This COD game is a good start for anyone who aims at playing a mobile FPS. For anyone who wants a more full fledged game, check out the Modern Combat series. Overall, I rate this game 3 stars because of its struggle to meet higher FPS standards of today. I would, however, recommend this shooter to people looking for a mobile FPS. But, in the end, this game will just make you want to play black ops 2:)
The most sophisticated game on the app store
First off, there is ONE reason this game has a lower aggregate review score than many inferior games - Activision is one of the ONLY devs not paying "review farms" to up their score to five stars, and for that integrity they should be highly, HIGHLY commended. If 99 out of 100 games didnt have artificial 5 star reviews, this would be one of the highest rated games on the app store. Before the app store got flooded with paid reviews 2 or 3 years ago, 3 stars was around the average review score, and only maybe .1% of games had 5 stars, rather than 60% of games having 5 stars.
This game is Actually MORE sophisticated than console cod games. It flawlessly combines the action of a cod game with real, useable, smart overhead control and strategy. There may not be the big set-pieces of console cod, but the production values are there. This thing is slickly produced, and the smartest product in the entire cod line. A masterpiece.
Not what I expected
This game is not what I thought it would be, I expected something more similar to the campaign missions on black ops 2 where you'd have your squad and control your whole team however, this game is only a small part of it. The controls are tricky to get used to and could be improved to be better. The graphics are really bad and continue to suffer the more you play. If you happen to get through the crashes you have to get by the fear of it lagging too. The enemy's are simple stand and crouch shooting robots, your teammate just stands there taking fire from everywhere unless you command him to follow. The AI could be a lot smarter but it isn't. The drone view was the reason I was interested in the game however, it is much harder to control the soldiers from the sky since you have to follow a pattern to choose and command them. I was expecting much more from the Call of Duty franchise but I guess I got what I wanted; bad controls, lag, stupid AI, and lots of micro transactions.
