The modern combat series is by far my most played games. I've been playing Modern Combat since Sandstorm (the first ever modern combat) which was over five years ago. each new Modern combat better than the other until mc5..... Mc2 was one of the best for at the time and mc3 was amazing graphics gameplay campaign, everything! mc4 was only a slight upgrade since mc3 was so good with new features and guns. I enjoyed mc3 & 4 very much and I was expecting great things from mc5 especially after the trailers with the new graphic features like water and stuff.... I first played it on my iPod and it was lag then crash every multiplayer game which was a disappointment since the other mc run smooth on iPod 5. I then got an iPad and it runs very well on my iPad mini2. It's an ok game not the best and not the worst. I find the new update rather stupid since it adds IAP now which gives some people an advantage. In the other two games I loved to quick scope, but in mc5 after you shoot a sniper rifle, it scopes back in instead of letting you hit sprint which takes out the whole "quick" in quick scoping. Maps are decent and could use more mods and maps as well as a weapon balance. With all the new graphics, it makes the game seem sluggish and slow compared to mc4. In the end, I play this game a lot since I am pretty good at it usually getting a kdr of over 3 a game lol.....
This is sad
My review may not matter but what happened to offline gaming? Why do these companies make games that require an Internet connection to play the game. This includes the campaign as well. Also this is my fault for not reading the description about the game. But still games should not require an online only component. Even if it's an multiplayer only game. You can have A.I controlled bots to play with. Another thing I want to say is that I agree with online only if it's free to play. Nobody should drop money not even a single penny if it's online only. I expected at least the campaign to be offline. I don't like supporting nonsense and I learned my lesson. Never again I'll be playing a Gameloft game again unless they change the way there games work regarding offline and online. I miss offline gaming. Why is this happening to games now in days. This doesn't apply to just Mobile games but on the console games as well. Please if you are reading this you have or haven't bought this game please this about what you are supporting and are about to support. I'm writing this review because I don't want people supporting nonsense like this. Gamers should be able to play there games whenever they want and not require Internet to enjoy there video game. This applies to to all types of video games. If this was free I wouldn't have a problem.
Please read whoever wants to get it.
Im giving this game 4 stars this time, I did a review before the update and this one is after the update. I love the league system but there are some problems. I played 30:00 minutes before the league promotion to get into platinum league 1, I played 5 games before the 30:00 minuets ended and got between 12 and 23 kills each game and very few deaths. I got put down to league silver 3! I got very mad. So that definetley needs to get fixed because I am level 75 with 1.5 kd and in bronze league 3! Second problem is the voting for maps, if you choose one map, you cant choose a different one. You should be able to change your vote if you want to. Final problem is the "Battle Packs". They are EXTREMELY difficult to get. I played for 2 hours straight, leveled up 4 times and didn't get a single battle pack. Then i discovered that you can only get them in campaign mode? That isn't really smart. So I played campaign for a hour and didn't get one. I finally just went to get a itunes and bought one. Gameloft I hope you see this and fix these problems. Thankyou if you read this.
