What's New in Version 2.4
- some bug fixes and improvements
Most of the questions suffer from two terrible problems. Either the questions are COMPLETELY obscure trivia (like "what was this person-no-one's-ever-heard-of's first movie from 1977?") that NO one cares about, or, even more problematic, many of the answers are downright WRONG/very poorly worded. Two blatant examples I came across only five minutes into the game: 1) "Eye pupils dilate in brighter light" (the "correct" answer apparently is false, ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT TRUE because the definition of "dilate" can refer to EITHER the expansion or constriction of the pupils), and 2) "Napoleon was a French military commander" (uh NO he was actually born in Corsica, not France! This question was just poor wording. It would have been much more accurate in saying "Napoleon was a Corsican military commander who LED the French").
The amateur nature of this app's information is disappointing. It's a good concept.
Wrong answers, drawn out animations, and too many ads
The game looks slick and promising, but the number of questionable answers in just my few minutes of playing really irritated me. Granted, I did look up all the answers I disagreed with and was pleasantly surprised by a few, but there were answers that I thought were wrong that proved absolutely to be wrong. Dictionaries seem to indicate a different definition for guerrilla soldier. One question was obviously mis-entered into the database, as it had two lines about both "Unapologetic" and "Apologetic" being Rihanna albums with strange typographical errors.
So even if the answers were reasonable, it's a pain to sit through both the pointless animations and ads between each level. I can't recommend this game.
Fun game but ad bogged
This game would be a really awesome 5-star game if it weren't for the ridiculous ads before AND after each level. The ones after each level have a little close button up in the corner; I wind up hitting the ad background each time I try to close it. I don't know about anyone else but it's hard as heck trying to hit that tiny button in that tiny space without launching the ad. It's frustrating!! I know they want us to buy the premium game so there are no ads but there are less annoying tactics to employ. Heck, if they made it a little less ad-based they may even find that more people will buy the app. It'd be enjoyable if it weren't for those won't-let-ya-click-out-ads!
