Difficult but awesome!
Like others on this forum, I sure would like the option of "easy, medium and hard. I love ole school platform games like this... but with this particular one you had better prepare yourself for a little frustration because if your timing is off you are going to lose quite often. At first I thought this game was too difficult to be enjoyable but now I just try and think of each level as a challenge to be taken one level at a time. Does anyone have suggestion for other good platformers for the iPhone? It dosn't necessarily have to be a Mario style game, suggestions for ANY good platform games would be greatly appreciated.
To the Dev(s): it's not often that I read in these reviews where ppl are giving thanks and praise because you truly listened/heard their suggestions. That alone deserves a 5 star rating... along with developing an awesome game of course! Thank U ;-) ~Shine~ Portland, OR
Fun but difficult: Updated
I've played some challenging platformers on my phone but this game is by the hardest. There's no option for easy, med or hard as it seems the very first level is brutal. I suggest adjusting the level of difficulty, having a guide to show a short tap means low jump and long tap means jumping higher. Also, please give the option of switching sides (jump on the right/shoot on the left). Overall, I like the game but I hope it can be adjusted
Update: Big thanks to the developer for listening. Before the update, I was able to finally beat the game and it was difficult but still very fun. Right now, I appreciate the mini directions in the beginning and the option to switch sides for jumping and shooting. Ill still keep replaying the game over and over to beat my best score. Thanks again
Charming Little Game
If I were a great platformer this game would literally take a few minutes to complete. Fortunately I am not and so over the course of a week this game provided a few good hours of joyful breath holding and teeth gritting.
As I progressed through the game I was delighted by new mechanics (like the mine cars) or little details in the artwork. All to a catchy soundtrack.
What leaves the greatest impression, however, is that once you find a level's groove it becomes apparent that every bad guy or platform is meticulously placed to facilitate what turns out to be a perfect run. Fantastic choreography.
My only regret was discovering that developer did not have more games for me to spend money on.
