A surreal thriller in which the written word is your map, as well as your narrator.

DEVICE 6 plays with the conventions of games and literature, entwines story with geography and blends puzzle and novella, to draw players into an intriguing mystery of technology and neuroscience.

Anna wakes up in a castle on a remote island, with little recollection of how she got there. All she remembers is an unusually unpleasant doll.

Why are there two identical castles on the island? Who is the mysterious man in the bowler hat? And above all, what is the purpose of the tests Anna is put through?

Read, listen and peek into three-dimensional photographs to solve the bizarre mysteries of DEVICE 6.

"DEVICE 6 is designed to linger in the mind long after the last code has been cracked and the last sentence read. Spy stories - even traditional ones - often haunt their readers' dreams once they've been completed. It's only appropriate, really. Is that a final full-stop or a microdot? Is this the end of the affair or an invitation to go deeper?"
Eurogamer - 9/10

"In using its text both as narrative and as geography – and through its impressively restrained use of illustration and sound – it generates an almost unrivalled sense of place. It isn’t embarrassed to allow Device 6 to be a game when it needs to be, and yet it knows precisely when to let the story take over. The result is a sharp, striking mystery that is at once provocative, extraordinarily stylish and altogether essential"
EDGE - 9/10

"In turning a text adventure into a world map, Simogo has resurrected a long-dead genre with style and confidence. Great presentation and brilliant puzzles complete a stellar package"
Pocketgamer – 9/10

"Ever exceeding expectations, the developer has followed up one of 2013′s highlights with another title that can be classed as such. With a compelling story that keeps you guessing, and a pin-point utilisation of the platform, Device 6 is an accomplishment in games design, mobile or otherwise"
God is a Geek - 9/10

"DEVICE 6 not only explores the boundaries of narrative storytelling, it also demonstrates the creative potential of touchscreen gaming"
Appspy – 5/5

"Simogo’s doing something few others are doing, and it’s wonderful that someone is both providing great experiences and testing the limits of interactive media"
148apps - 5/5

"An ingenious slice of puzzling adventure that's as imaginative as it is stylish"
Modojo - 4.5/5

A beautiful piece of art and design

I will start off by saying- just buy this. Yes, it's short, but as another reviewer said, we spend 4 dollars on a cup of coffee, and this game/short story/interactive artwork will stay with you far longer.

Device 6 reads like a terse mystery, with each chapter containing a simple yet clever puzzle to solve in order to finish the chapter. As someone who has been playing games like Myst since high school, none of these puzzles proved much of a challenge, and was over much too soon, but as a gamer, avid reader, and art history major I didn't really care.

This game is beautiful. Its use of text as space and jarring destruction of the 'fourth wall' creates of a work of art that is totally unique to its medium and innovates its own genre the way that many of the great masterpieces of art and design do. I truly think that this a game that will be viewed in the oncoming years as one of the first that showed us the true potential of a tablet device to deliver a work that could not be delivered in any other medium.

If I sound hyperbolic, I apologize, but please, buy Device 6, before MOMA does and you look like even more of a hipster playing it.

Contender for game of the year.

I'm not one to write reviews, but for a game this polarizing I felt the need to. Gaming websites are putting this IOS game on their top 10 lists for possible game of the year contenders. Yes, it's short. Yes, there are puzzles to solve. Yes, you do have to read. Yes, it costs 4 WHOLE dollars! But what people don't get in this day and age is that the experience is everything! We spend 4 bucks on a cup of coffee and it's gone in an hour but complain that we spent a dollar on an iPhone game and played it for an hour and feel like we got ripped off! This game will stick with you long after you finish it. It is unlike anything you have played before. I've been playing video games my whole life and this is one of the few games that has a completely original idea. Read the description, check the reviews, and make an informed decision. The developers did an amazing job and don't deserve the 1 star rating that people are giving out. This is a great game that runs smooth as silk with no bugs. There is a lot of garbage on the App Store, this is not one of them. It's mostly 5's and 1's here. Don't you wonder why?

Interesting Goal, Uninteresting Interactivity

Device 6 is probably one of the best games I have ever played on this iPad, (So was Simogo's other game, Year Walk) and deserves praise for originality. It took me about two hours during a party, and a period of time while I searched for the answer of a puzzle, to complete and was extremely fun in that time. The game is based around old spy flicks and adventure storytelling at it's finest and makes your brain work at its despite it's not exactly puzzle game feel.
You play as Anna, a girl who wakes up in a large tower with limited recollection of what happened before she arrived there. Based on early thoughts from Anna and apparently habit-like occurrences proves that she is a smoked and works are an office. Throughout the game you travel through the island ranging from castle to beach to bridge to castle, all the while solving increasingly scary and disorienting tests or puzzles. The ending is amazing (I won't spoil it for you) and feels like an ending where there is more to come. The game is basically The Stanely Parable mixed with the every tone and music from the movie
I give it 4 stars out of 5
