Great, but a little grindy
Atmospherically this game is perfect - exploration through haunting locals with graphing calculator style visuals that somehow enhance the uneasiness and isolation, and moody music that does its part and more. I wish more games put this much effort into interesting tone. The slot machine roguelike gameplay's fun too, and even though when you add it all up there's variety in what's happening, I wish there was a little more meat to the basic combat.
And that doesn't help the big issue, because as soon as you stop playing the game to progress forward, because you have to go back and start playing the game to grind for currency, to unlock the next area, the you lose something. And the simple combat becomes tedious combat, and you're not having as much fun.
I know you need to make money here, but I'd had rather pay you upfront and not have my experience with your otherwise excellent game stunted by pressure from microtansactions.
The game is fun, but unbalanced
Game play is fun. But quite a lot of things need to improve. There a no save or check point. If u die u start all over again. You can buy insurance but that do not cover paid upgrade and your character levels and added attribute. This is kind of weird in today gaming.
And, the game enemies will raise it level according to your level. This look make sense but work out confusing. Game usually use level to let player know what step they are, but as the enemy change it level , it is kind of difficult to know if it is OK to move down the level. And if you just "try" to see if you able you will die very easily and so you start everything again.
The game also need you stay and visiting Bar quite a lot of time. And actually even more then half of your play time. It is kind of weird again.
Tough but fun!
Even with the strange format of everything being done with slots, this game has a such a variety in play that you don't notice. What's more: because of the frequency of using slots for every action, eventually you get a sort of sixth sense on when to "re-spin" and when it's okay to lose one. Try not to re-spin too much in one turn or your 1000g will turn into 100g VERY fast. This game also has a semi-reset when you die, so make sure to buy and insurance policy from the shop so you don't lose your rare items if you have bad luck at a boss. Give this game a chance and be swept up in the beautiful nostalgia of it.
