Human does not count your steps. We track how many minutes you move and automatically detect outdoor activities like running, walking, and cycling. Your dance moves, chores around the house, shopping sprees, treadmill runs, and other indoor activity is detected as "Active". We use the motion sensors of your phone to measure intensity and estimate active Calories.
Continued use of location services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Human is optimized to use minimal power and minimize the impact on your battery life. In most cases you should be able to easily get through the day, but results may vary based on network conditions and daily usage. We recommend to charge your phone at night or during periods of inactivity.
We store your data safely on our servers. You can request a full copy of all your data within the app. We will delete all your account and all your data on request.

Addictive, but not accurate.
I love this app for the simple fact that it's motivating. It makes me want to beat my daily goals and keep a streak. However, the app is not accurate. At first I thought that it was close, but after walking all over my house doing chores, taking out my dogs and getting the mail, it states that I have only walked 14 minutes. Several times I have left early in the morning to take my husband to work and it states that I've driven 10 minutes but I have not walked any minutes at all. How have I not walked between getting up, and getting ready to go? And yes, I have my phone either in my hand or on an armband to get as accurate as possible while doing these things. I would recommend this app to someone who is not interested in accuracy, but simple motivation.
While it may not track a perfect number, it's accurate enough to give you a good estimate of daily activities. It's a good starting point for people who are just trying to add a bit of exercise into their daily life. I love the witty comments as you check your progress. They range from "let's get going" to "you did it!" To "look at you go!" I think I one point after an especially busy day at work hitting about 200 minutes it simply said "take a break" All said, I love this app. Simple. Well designed. Witty. Motivating. Easy to follow. And not overly complicated. It does just as it says it will. No more. No less.
Fun and motivating, but flawed
I've been really enjoying this app for a few days now. It's almost perfect – it measures general activity with decent accuracy without any user input required. But there's one big flaw: any activity not tracked by the iPhones motion sensor is not counted, and there is no way to add this activity manually. This means that activities where you are not holding your phone such as swimming or sports, are not counted towards your daily activity goal goal. This is fine if you're in the office trying to get in 30 minutes of movement during breaks, but on more active days this app is a little frustrating.
All and all this app is really fun, but it needs some sort of manual entry system to make it a five-star app.
