Perfect Weather - NOAA Radar and 7 Day Forecast
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
A beautifully balanced view of the weather. Perfect Weather was designed for use in the United States.
Some weather apps are overloaded with information. Others are designed to be pretty rather than useful. Perfect Weather strikes the right balance. It gives you a quick, clear overview of the conditions you care most about.
All the weather info you need at a glance:
• 7 day forecast
• Weather maps with radar and clouds
• Detailed current conditions
• Temperature chart with hourly forecast pop-up
Clear interface that’s easy to use:
• See temperatures in all locations at once
• Switch quickly between locations
• View and share severe weather alerts
More advanced apps still have their place, if you want to see a drought map or some other technical data, but Perfect Weather provides a quick, clear look at the most important stuff.
*Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
What's New in Version 1.1.2
- bug fixes
It needs an update for iOS 8 support on iPhone 6 due to a few annoying bugs. I fear the developers have abandoned this app; very unfortunate. Also, the weather data source/accuracy is below average compared to other options and sources these days. Otherwise, everything I wrote earlier (below) remains true.
...after all these years someone got it right! Please don't screw this up by changing it which seems to be the trend with other developers. As if change for no reason means "new and improved" or "better". The three critical elements that no one else has put into one app, as if it were rocket science, and necessitating the constant tedious use of three separate weather apps are here. 1) Temp badge on icon 2) Fast animated radar on main screen 3) Accurate weather data with *humidity* and *chance of precipitation percent* on main screen. Just open and view for the most part (some swipes offer more info). No additional information is needed, yet nothing pertinent is buried in other screens. I don't want "sharing", video, photos, horrible maps, superfluous data, a clock, or convoluted ugly displays. Even the weather icons here are simple, attractive, and modern. A great UI. Thank you. The loss of the "play" button and auto load for radar with a discrete time stamp would be my only wish.
Function and Beauty
I bought this right away because I haven't found a weather app that I love yet and because I've loved Launch Center Pro, also by this developer.
This may be the app that sticks. The interface is pretty and easy to use, but it also packs information into a small space. It also responds faster than most of the weather apps I've used. The best part is the developer lives in Texas, where sudden weather changes are common, so it puts an emphasis on knowing what's coming.
$3 is not much to ask for a great app by a great developer. If you're still looking, pick this one up.
Needs iOS 8 support + better accuracy
I love(d) this app. It's well designed and built and have been using it for over a year and a half. However, with the iOS 8 update brought with it plenty of bugs, the most obvious being the views resize a few times before correcting themselves on the iPhone 6+. A better hourly forecast view would be nice. And I have noticed that the forecasts in general tend to be less accurate than those provided by other apps such as the Weather Channel app. If these could all be fixed/added, I'd love to give this app 5 stars.
