Customer Reviews

I've sunk way too much time into this...

Like At Games other notable work, Puzzlecraft, this is a resource collection game.

The twist - the Guess Who suspect matching, map search, and crime scene search - keep it fresh and engaging for people who like logic puzzles. The story, though, is what keeps me playing, because I've basically beat the entire game forever.

Let me explain a bit: I had to use candies to advance in a couple phases in the early missions (failed to collect enough evidence to advance properly or whatever). But once I unlocked enough tools to guarantee the next drop, along with mastering the bonus system, I started getting $10,000 or so per major case. Money is basically useless and now it's a story game/room decoration simulator.

I dropped $5 to speed up deliveries and increase the size of the newspaper stack, but there's absolutely no need to buy candy if you're patient and use the practice missions to experiment with combos of skills and tools.

A couple minor flaws:
It forgot some of the purchases I made in the facial features section, which makes me wonder if there's some bug in the purchases as a whole.

Chapter 3 really drags on. Each major case will take a day or so to unlock (without the paid upgrades), so when the newspaper requirement for Chapter 4 dropped back to 10, it was a breath of fresh air.

There's no challenge in the puzzle portion once you unlock all the tools.

Still, five stars - I've got my money's worth for this.

Unique and Fun

I really enjoyed this game! I finished it and LOVE the ending. You feel so accomplished after finishing it and you love the characters in the story. It was a little confusing at first, due to the lack of directions, but after you get the hang of it, it's really fun! I highly recommend slowly and carefully reading though the directions at the beginning, but it's mainly practice and patterns. I've never played any other game like this, and would recommend all to try it. It might not be for everyone, but the storylines interesting, it's entertaining, and you don't have to buy anything to finish the game. You will have to have patience, because you have to wait to get energy, but besides that it's pretty much a touch and go type of game. Here's something funny, if you play the game long enough and meet most of the suspects you find a man who looks exactly like Carl from "Up". Anyway hope my review helped, try the game and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :)

Too hard, too fast, and it's the worst kind of freemium.

It gets too hard too fast, and you feel like you absolutely have to use the feels-like-cheating tools just to get through a level. It's fun for like, a day. Then you just get frustrated because you have to start guessing to get through the clues phases.

It's also the worst kind of freemium. The ads to get one candy are forever long, like 2 movie previews length. Seriously? For one candy? Then all the stuff you need take a lot of candy, and you sometimes have to use 10 candy just to get enough moves to get through a level. I can deal with freemium games where you can just farm the premium currency given enough time, but when you literally have to wait for currency to fall in your lap to pass levels or just spin your wheels without really getting anywhere? Lame. What are you supposed to do, just buy all the worthless costume items until you have enough candy saved up? Then you spend the candy to get past the initial match- 3 phase and then you don't have enough clues to get the rest of it? Really?

All I'm all, promising, but dreams die fast.
