Interactive periodic table, solubility table, molar mass calculator and the 3D widget for designing electron configuration of atom. The most necessary chemical references for students in the one neat app - it's Chemio!
Chemio is an interactive chemical reference. It provides a set of useful instruments, which allow you to perform search and calculations faster. Our app's purpose is to replace traditional chemical books and to help you with your research or education.
We're open for your feedback about the app's performance and functionality.
What's New in Version 1.2
This update includes a number of improvements and corrections:
- Correct names for chemical elements in English;
- Swapped metals and transition metals legends (they were confused in the periodic table);
- Ba+ corrected to Ba2+ in the solubility table;
- Corrected minor inaccuracies in text references;
- Small performance improvements.
An app can never replace a good chemistry teacher and a genuine desire to be interested in a subject with so many abstract concepts. That being said, this is a nice reference for the elements and provides some calculators which simplifies the tedium and the math of chemical formulas. Instead of looking at a 2-D paper chart, one can learn-by-rote using button touch interaction, and almost "feel" the periodical table. The developers should just accept quantum mechanics when displaying 3D models of the elements by using spherical clouds of probably, instead of Bohr's orbital model.
While the interface is simple and clean, there is a wealth of information within this app all organized so that is easily found based on families of elements or properties of individual elements. The inclusion of atomic models of each of the elements is not only extremely useful but also completely unique no other periodic table or other Chemistry app I have seen included such a feature- in 3D no less.a it is my favorite periodic table by far.
Great education tool
A straight forward chart for any intro level student ( K to 2nd year college). Any college student (taking Chem I, II or Organic Chemistry) would appreciate visualization of this table. I download this for my 6 year old son to understand elements since he had great interest inspired by Toca Lab. I used it to demonstrate what elements are composed of and concepts of atoms, electrons, and orbits.
