Improvements worth upgrade
I've been using ToDo for several years, and this upgrade offers many improvements, like enlarged text that is easier to read and more color coding.
Overall it was worth the effort to export/import all of my items from the old version to the new one, but it would be easier for new users than existing users, unless they revise the upgrade version to have a few changes:
Add a global export / import feature for current users of ToDo older version; otherwise it is necessary to email each item to yourself, then click on the link in that email to import it to the new ToDo. Then you still have to re-assign each item a date & time & priority & sub-heading. A lot of work.
Also, the "?" Button next to the settings button at the bottom of the home page is annoying, as a miss-click leads to several tutorial screens that have to all be cycled through.
It should be possible to customize this feature, so the tutorial won't be shown again, then an internal "help" feature can exist in the settings menu.
Lastly, the All Items home page looks so great with the new style of color coding; it would really be great to have the option of making the regular lists page colorful like this, instead of only the default white background.
Powerful and easy to use
I wanted to find a to-do app that allowed for easy conversion between tasks and projects and multiple options for organizing tasks into lists or with tags. This app has the features I was looking for, and once I worked with it I found that I really like its interface.
At first I tried to sync with my iphone using dropbox, but my tasks occasionally got out of sync. I switched to todo cloud (paid) syncing, and there are no more problems. Using the paid cloud service is optional, and don't need to create an account at all if you don't want to use it.
Overall, this app has everything that I need, a great interface that is pleasing to use yet powerful, and the flexibility to sync manually or via the cloud. Great app for a reasonable price.
I'm really loving this app- I've tried so many & I'm so glad I finally found one that works for me. This app is beautifully designed, simple, functional, and offers great scheduling flexibility (this even allows manual reordering of "All Tasks"- I've been looking for this feature!). Recurring tasks also works well & offers a lot of flexibility. Color coding is awesome. My few wish list items: web access to a pared down version of Todo cloud where you don't have to pay a subscription fee (chrome extension, maybe?) but still be able to access tasks on desktop, Gcal integration would be great, and (minor requests) more cute but relevant icons & the ability to change star colors from just yellow. Overall, great app & highly recommended- thank you!
