I have an iPad mini, and it crashes. I was able to start playing, and even have 1 continue, but it crashes soon after. Please fix.
2 stars for now. 5 when it's been fixed.
Lowered from 2 stars to 1. I expected they would fix the game by now.
Crashes over and over again
This app will not run on my ipad mini. Never gets past the beginning of what I think is a landing. I am fed up with seeing only the first minute and this thing will be history as soon as I finish this review. You'd think they would have tested this.
Needs a lot of work!
This game is breaking my heart because I want to love it but I can't even say I like it.
I will start with the good. The graphics are nice and stylized, they remind me of a the work of Double Fine (has a real Psychonauts feel). The environments are cool, the music is nice, and the overall gameplay is fun.
The problems however really ruin the overall experience. A game like this relies heavily on the story, and it seems the developer realizes this and has put a lot of written dialog in the game, the issue is that it makes no sense. The person writing the dialog obviously has no understanding of the English language. I can read each line multiple times and still have no clue of what they are talking about. It is painful to try to read it, and there is a lot of. It.
Another issue is the controls, you don't quite feel you have control over the character. Pushing where you want to go just doesn't respond quite right and the battles feels really sluggish and just not fun.
Performance is another huge issue. I am playing on an iPad3 (if it was universal I'd try it on iPhone5s). The game slows down a lot (even after power cycling the device), the frame rate gets awful if there's much happening on the screen, and the the screen freezes when panning.
This game has the potential to be one of the better games on iOS, but as it sits. I couldn't recommend that anyone gives it a try. I will leave it on my device for now in hopes of an update (it's gonna need to be a big one). I will review again if an update is released. I hate to see all of the developers hard work go to waste on this one.
