What's New in Version 1.05
Offline mode stability improvements.
Squashed some epic bugs.
Farfaria vs. Epic
I was looking for an online library of ebooks for my 4 year old daughter. I was debating between Epic versus Farfaria. I chose Epic because I like the fact that Epic obtains books from credited authors and illustrators to share their published books or write new ones for them. Epic charges 4.99 per month ( good price for thousands of books). I found a few well known published books, but do not think that you will have access to Caldecott Medal winners or very famous and profitable series. But for the price of a cup of coffee at Starbucks, I can get new books to read to my daughter.
Improvements needed: Epic needs to allow us to search books via Lexile levels. Right now I have to click on books to see their Lexile level.
Best. App. Ever.
As a former public school teacher and current homeschooling mother, I can truly say this app is one of a handful that I will actually pay for-- and it's worth EVERY penny! It was described as "the Netflix of books" somewhere, which is an appropriate description. With a variety of book genres and reading levels, as well as read-to-me capabilities, my children BEG to "play on Epic" every single day!
How could you not get this?
Before using Epic I would buy eBooks to read to my nephews (3 and 5) on my iPad. This is such a money saver, and a great app! It's only $5 a month, which is less than I would pay for a single book before. Now we read all kinds of different books together rather than just the same few.
