Ok but could be better
Sortable schedule I'd good, but won't let me double-book interest in sessions. Sometimes I WANT to do that, esp. before full syllabus is available. Exhibitor list should be more interactive with map & those highlighted as 'interest.' Check-off feature for exhibitors would be nice so I know all those of interest were visited.
Too basic, Needs work
I feel bad that this review appears to be a big gripefest, but there is just a lot of basic navigation and indication functionality that is missing that would make this app so much easier to use and useful. Currently, it is just a basic catalog of exhibitors and sessions and lacks the more advanced features that you would expect from a 2014 tradeshow app.
For example, it doesn't show which classes I added to my schedule on the session list. There should be some kind of marker for that.
Similarly, when I "Add Interest" in one of the sessions or exhibitors, it doesn't indicate that selection when I return to the session or exhibitor list.
Rather than allowing me to swipe horizontally through sessions and exhibitors, the app requires me to return to the list and tap into the next option. This is made even more difficult by a very small back button in the upper left-hand corner which you must tap "just so" to activate.
On a positive note, the exhibitor mapping feature seems to work reasonably well and will be very helpful to me. It would be nice if when I "add interest" for an exhibitor, it indicated that exhibitor's location on the map.
From what I can tell, there is also no way for me to add notes for a session or an exhibitor once I've visited them. That's a bummer.
These are all features I appreciate in other tradeshow apps, and wish were present in the rootstech14 app. Perhaps there will be some enhancements to the app over the next month before we arrive.
