Ratings and Reviews
Wow. They've regressed not progressed.
I first used this app and ordered glasses from them 4 years ago and loved the whole process. I just downloaded it again and boy am I surprised at how they've gone backwards. It was so easy to try on frames right from the app AND you used to be able to get up to 4 frames at a time sent to you to try before you order. That always made a huge difference than just seeing the frames on screen. Now you have to buy them before you can try them on and hope for the best. Plus I tried 3 times uploading my pic but the frames show way too high on my face even though I kept adjusting them lower on my face in the app setup. And you can't readjust them on the website. You used to be able to adjust them for every frame you tried on in the app. It also seems like more than half the frames on the website can't be virtually tried on. That doesn't help, especially when you can't have the frames sent to you first before buying. It also seemed like they had a way bigger selection back then also. I'm really disappointed.
It either doesn’t work, or it’s not intuitive.
I opened the app and did what it said to create my model. That part was easy enough. I created an account, thinking that my model would then be linked with my account. Maybe I missed something in that process, but when I then go to the site and sign into the account I created, none of the frames I select show me the model view. Even after I specifically turn that feature on (and repeatedly turn back on every time I go back to the main listing after viewing a pair of frames). On some of the frames, in the series of pics showing them from different angles, there’s an “empty” thumbnail that you’d assume might be where the model view might be generated. But even after clicking on that and letting it do its thing for several minutes, nothing happens.
So basically, something about this app is very broken, either because it doesn’t give complete enough instructions on how to make it work properly or because it simply just doesn’t work properly. Either way, it’s not worth it.
Impressive Tech, Sloppy Execution
They have something great here, but they need to add clarifications to the instructions. Where they fall short is in explaining HOW to use the app. After you get done scanning your face, the app prompts you to create an account. Then you click a button that says "Go shopping!". This button switches you to Safari, and your at these home page on their website. At this point it is unclear how to proceed! After some research I found out that you simply have to login on their site. Go figure. I could set how most people could completely miss this, and I think of myself pretty clever when it comes to internet things.
Additionally, I found the selection of frames enabled for "model" view to be lacking. Another bugga boo.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
