Better versus AI
This game is odd. For me, it is a better game against the AI. Against humans the British pull into high ground and fortified defenses exclusively and the Germans are relatively powerless. Supply rules prevent the Germans from moving or attacking very much and replacements are too low to fight very long. Minefield rules are ridiculous. Germans cannot breach even completely undefended minefields with any reliability. Completely ahistorical. They are like free defensive units more for the British than the Germans. The primary problem is that the Germans are virtually always out of supply and the Brits are always in supply and can keep moving even when out of supply. A smart British player can keep the German unsupplied for the whole game by avoiding refit periods. You can actually give the German player open paths to Egypt and he cannot get there. Just hold the high ground and move as he tries to go by. The German basically cannot fight and move. He can only do one or the other. AI plays more historically.
Too bad, I really wanted to play this game
I read the reviews that said this update was broken, but I optimistically thought this wouldn't apply to me.
Nope, downloaded on iOS 8.1, iPad and the game was broken out of the box (weird screen size issues and no responsiveness to touch)
It's too bad because I love the other two games by Shenandoah. Reading around it sounds like the lack of responsiveness to this buggy release could be related to the recent purchase by Slytherin. Hope they can get this series back on track!
Fun, old school strategy game.
Really enjoying this game. I haven't had the display issues some others have, so far it's worked well. Playing the German side is very difficult, but that's to be expected if you are to succeed where Rommel failed!
