Great workout app for those with little time
I've been using this for a while now, and I love the variety of workouts you get with the "smart workout" feature. It builds a 7-minute style workout from 12 different exercises, which can really step up the difficulty. I also like the fact that it builds you up based on your rating of the difficulty of each session, but where it loses points is the vagueness of its difficulty rating. Word to the wise: anything short of "exhausted" (the highest difficulty rating) seems to counted as "rested," which means the app will start prodding you to move to harder workouts even if you're not really ready. The only other gripe I have is that you can't tell the app you want to limit your workout to a given number of cycles after you've already chosen to do a smart workout. In fact, I can't tell there's any setting to put a minimum or maximum number of cycles. But you can always quit early if it goes long, or start a new workout if it leaves you feeling cheated, so it still merits a solid 4 stars for the variety and the fact that it pushes you to move toward your goals.
Encouraging for a beginner; effective for an athlete
Everyone has a different workout routine that works for them. This one works for me! I started out after having taken a couple years off of exercise. I was totally out of shape and overweight. The routine did not discourage me, but rather, encouraged me as I've seen steady progress. I feel so much stronger and that is just after a month of usage. I can do this! With relatively no set up (just turning on my iPad) and only 20 minutes needed to complete a routine, this is doable for someone who hates to exercise, yet effective enough for someone who is already fit. Best yet, I no longer dread workout time because I know how much better I feel afterwards. That is motivation enough. I love that I can listen to my own music while I work out, too. I have lost about 20 pounds since I started.
My Morning Routine
I've tried many other exercise apps. This is the best. Every morning I wake up early, go downstairs and get to exercising for 7 minutes. Those 7 minutes pay off. You look great and feel great. Stick with it! You can do anything for 7 minutes. Brewing tea? Workout for 7 minutes. Taking a break from work? Do a 7 minute workout. It's easy to do and this app is professional.
What makes it stand head and shoulders above the rest? It is filled with free exercise routines and you pick the intensity level you desire of you choose to go beyond the 7 minutes or want to kick it up several notches.
If deciding between this and other apps, get THIS one. You've got nothing to lose.
