Match Tiles. Cast Spells. Conquer Evil.
Spellfall™ is a unique tile-matching puzzle game where you cast magical spells to defeat evil monsters. Along the way, you'll master new spells, grow more powerful and acquire new equipment to aid in your fight.
Evil has met its match!
• Match 3+ Spell Tiles
• Cast Powerful Spells
• Defeat Wicked Monsters
• Equip Gear & Abilities
• Work Your Magic!
Each monster match-up includes an increasingly challenging tile puzzle board. Match three fire tiles to cast a fire spell. Match three water tiles to conjure a water spell. Line up four or more matching tiles to inflict even mightier damage.
Defeat the evil beasts and you'll be rewarded with better weapons, special abilities and magical powers needed to overtake more fierce opponents encountered later in your journey. Cast out the dark spirits and save the world from ruin. Spellfall is a match for the ages.

A refreshing twist on the puzzle genre, it’s less restricting than a lot of the other puzzle games out there, so I can take my time to make awesome cascades and combos. I feel like there’s more strategy involved, whereas with games like Bejeweled and Candy Crush it seems more like luck most of the time.
I’ve been playing the game for over a month straight now, and haven’t had to spend any money to continue. I spent a couple of dollars on an item I wanted and to support the developers, but you can pretty much play as long as you want without spending money. You don’t have to wait to heal, there are items that can heal your player while you play. They do have some expensive items in the store, but you don’t need them in any way, and you can get those items for free at 20-day rewards. The recapturing feature doesn’t really bother me, and if you go into the settings menu you can turn it off, so I’m not sure why people are complaining about that.
I'm not opposed to games making money. Hell, that's why you make them, in part. I'm also not opposed to the microtransaction model. It's actually great if used correctly and gamers are always willing to shell out cash just out of admiration as long as the game is fun and fair.
Spellfall, however, fails miserably on every facet. Beneath its flashy and well polished exterior, there lies a Candy Crush RPG wannabe built around the only purpose of extracting money out of you at every turn. Every single game mechanic has a purchase option. What the hell Backflip? I used to respect your games but this is ridiculous. Gear, healing, progression, winning, continues, every single game mechanic has an option for cashing in and essentially paying yourself through the game. $60 for a weapon. What are you, a hospital quartermaster? You might as well buy ten humble bundles. You will get dozens of fun, original games that aren't trying to scam you at every possible turn.
If you are a gamer with any measure of self respect, punish the studios that do this kind of crap. Consider your studio blacklisted, Backflip.

There are reviews stating that the game requires you to pay.
You can pay or you can think. There are plenty of ways to earn in-game money, it will just take some time early on.
There are reviews stating how recapture ruins the game.
This, however, is an OPTION which can be turned on/off.
The plus game is HARD. If you rush through the normal game without earning enough coin/items, you're going to have a bad time.
Yeah.. There are ads when starting a FREE game. Much less annoying than Angry Birds.
Yeah... There are plugs to try to sell game gold for money... This is standard in free games.
You don't need to spend money. If you read some on the FB page & wiki, there is a lot of info out there. You can set your avatar up to heal from attacks. You can fight old (easy) enemies to heal to full (while earning xp & coin). Downtime is non-existent after around level 8, until the plus game. If you farm enough coin, you can make it through the first few plus game levels.
The game needs tweaks.. But it is great overall. (The coin for $ costs do need adjusting)
