What's New

Version 3.0.7

We fixed a bug that made some levels in Adventure Mode get stuck downloading. Happy Adventuring!

Word of the update is: “POOTLE.” This means to stroll, wander, or splash about. It shares common ancestry with words like ‘puddle’ and ‘poodle.’ Do you have a poodle dog? Do they like to pootle in puddles?

Got multiple accounts? Now you can switch between them easily!

Word of the update is: “BEATIFIC," which means 'blissfully happy.' That's how we feel about this update!

Thanks SO much to all the great kids, parents, and teachers that gave us feedback for this new update!

+ Encouragement & Hints
- New Tutorial! The first two levels of Adventure Mode teach how to play the game.
- We’ve added a voice over that encourages kids and gives them hints when they’re close in Adventure Mode.
- We’ve increased the time it takes before cooperative-play characters offer letter hints. We want kids to have time to think for themselves and try playing a letter!
+ Adventure Mode Exploration!
- We’ve changed some of the levels in Adventure Mode to be more fun and approachable!
- You now unlock characters to play with in Adventure Mode. Can you find them all? :D
+ Did you know there’s an option to tap a picture to hear the word?
- You can turn this on in the Settings menu!
+ We’ve made some changes to the ‘clear the playspace of letter tiles’ screen.
- This should be more clear and help prevent accidentally played letters at the start of a game!

Word of the update is: “MANGOSTEEN.” Neither a Mango nor a Steen. It’s a tasty and fun looking fruit from Southeast Asia!

Poorly thought out game

Rather than picking words that are aligned to the age group selected, like short easy words for 4 year olds, it uses words too big for them to learn to spell but makes it easy by only requiring them to guess just the first letter. Lazy on the developers part. Worst of all, no way to turn off the clues that the character gives. Doesn't allow my kid to try to figure out the letter. While he's thinking, it'll just tell him what the letter is. If he makes one wrong guess, it'll just tell him what the letter is. GIVE THE KID A LITTLE TIME TO TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT!

Thank you for your feedback.

1. Junior Mode - if you're in Junior mode, tap on the settings button ('II') in the top left hand corner. Once here you will see the words 'Home, Restart, and Achievements.' Underneath these words is the option to turn on or off the 'hints' and 'speech.'

2. Play Mode (after selecting versus or Zen) - to increase the difficulty, tap on the settings button ('II') in the top left hand corner. Once here you will see the words 'Home, Restart, Achievements, and Albums.' Underneath these words is the option to turn on or off the 'hints' and 'speech.' There is also a difficulty meter where players can select the levels Easy, Medium, Hard, and Impossible. The Impossible level is an adult favorite!

Please note that some downloadable Words albums that are created by the general public may not have these options associated with them.

Gave up on it

My little girl really seemed to be enjoying this app until her progress was stopped. She was unable to move forward because the app needs to download albums. The download never starts and we are stuck at "Please Wait.... Downloading album". Waste of money

Developer Response

Feel free to contact if you have any other issues, we can step you through any problems you're seeing.

Not working

Please ,please fix! My son got this for Christmas and we can not get this app to work. It won’t open or anything! When we tap on the icon to open , the screen just goes black and then goes back to main screen. I have a very upset boy and no idea how to fix this. Please help!

I'm sorry you're having issues downloading Osmo games. Sometimes the App Store gets stuck in a bad state, but here are some steps (from easiest to most work) that should get it unstuck.

Have you tried restarting your iPad yet?
1) Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see a slider at the top of the screen.
2) Drag the slider to the right to shut down the iPad.
3) When the iPad has shut off, hold the Sleep/Wake button again until the Apple logo comes up.

If that still doesn't work, you can try this:
1) Launch the Settings app on your iPad.
2) In the left column, tap General.
3) In the right column tap Storage * iCloud Usage.
4) Under the first section (storage) tap on 'Manage'.
5) Do you see Osmo Numbers listed there? If so, tap it.
6) Tap on 'Delete App'.

Or, if that doesn't work, could you try these steps? They will reset the cache of the App Store, to hopefully reset the faulty download status of the Osmo app:
1) Open up the App Store.
2) Tap the 'Featured' button (a star) at the bottom of the screen 10 times in a row.
- This should make the screen go white for a few seconds while it says 'Loading' in the middle.
3) Once the App Store has reloaded, go back to the home screen and check if it's still shaded in the undownloaded state or if it's starting to download.

If that doesn't work, you can try this:
1) Launch the Settings app on your iPad.
2) On the left column, scroll down to iTunes & App Store and tap it.
3) Tap on your current Apple ID at the top.
4) Tap on Sign Out in the popup menu that appears.
5) Sign back in with your Apple ID.

Let me know if that works. Thanks a lot!
