Super Glitchy
No one could have possibly beta tested this game. The fact that it got published in its current condition blows my mind. Let me start by saying that I don't mind that it's pretty much a replica of Injustice. It's by some of the same creators, and Injustice was a great game, so that's fine. However, Immortals leaves much to be desired.
For one, the sound effects are off and/or missing. Normal attacks are spot on, but when a character is dropped and hits the ground, there's no sound effect - seems disappointing to me. Character leveling is extremely unbalanced. Blocked attacks deal way too much damage to the point where blocking is almost pointless. The camera often shifts to points where you can't even see the action. If you block a special move, it will say you blocked it, but the camera will still move as if the attack was being carried out, and you'll receive full damage as well.
Characters that are sidelined will randomly use their special attacks on you, even if another character is presently active. At one point, two opponents simultaneously performed special attacks on me. Being beaten down so unfairly makes it difficult to want to continue playing the game, especially if you constantly need to refresh lives because of glitched damage. I feel as if there's more I can add, but those are the most frustrating moments. The ball was severely dropped with this game. I can only hope for a patch, and soon.
What the hell?
Game is full of potential... And more annoying glitches than the character library of the MK universe and Injustice combined. Why would you release something with so many glitches. Trying to complete daily challenges in on line mode and every time I get to the last match the opponents come at you 2 at a (invisible or not) with unblockable finishers that take out my character instantaneously. This is a glitch continuous through all off the game play, as well as multiple others that are way to numerous to list (see previous reviews for full list before downloading app). I just wasted all my characters energy trying to complete one challenge, and could not because of a glitch. Come on, there was no way you guys were testing the game and thought,"hey this glitch is infuriating and makes it impossible to win the match... Oh it's no big deal". Was there some type of dead line to get the game out by? Were your beta testers only allowed to play the game blindfolded while the programmers told them they were doing a good job. I love games from this developer (MK & Injustice), and where this game is just a clone of those franchises, it seems like you did not even care about the finished product. The only reason I still have it is because it was free, but if there are not some bug fixes soon it will be removed from my library as well as my faith in future games from the developers.
Mortal Kombat Vibes
WWE Immortals feels like a beta test for Mortal Kombat X IOS version. Just the way the settings and characters look makes me think that they're teasing to what's to come. Expect the part where everyone has a grapple. I know that there are grapple characters but not everyone is a grapple character in Mortal Kombat. Also Undertaker looks like Ermac. Look at his Gold Card. Also the settings looks like they belong in a Mortal Kombat game. I know this supposed to be fantasy but everything screams Mortal Kombat expect a couple of things. Overall WWE Immortals is a fun game but the more I play it makes want an Mortal Kombat X version instead. Where they going for the Mortal Kombat style just without the Blood and Gore? I don't know. If you enjoy this type of gameplay style your going to enjoy yourself. Also this games feels more fair then Injustice IOS. I was able to get very far with bronze cards and I only upgraded the cards to where they have their second move. If you are a fan of WWE then you might like it. Even if you aren't a fan of the WWE I think you will enjoy it for what it is. I don't watch wrestling anymore and I like WWE Immortals. I think it's because the Mortal Kombat Vibes I get from it.
