It kept us safe during hurricane Irma

Hello. I just wanted to take the time to thank you for having such a wonderful app. I live in Orlando Florida. As you know we were just hit by hurricane Irma. I can't tell you how invaluable you app has been to us. We didn't bother watching the TV meteorologists because they tended to use dialogue that frightens you like catastrophic and imminent and deadly and huge etc... I guess you get the idea. We were already very upset about being in the situation. Listening to the news reports telling us how bad it was didn't make our mental states any better. I have lived in Florida since 1969. I know exactly how dangerous hurricanes can be. We took it very seriously and gathered provisions appropriate to the situation. But the reason I love your app is because I was able to pull it up as often as I wanted which was very often. I was able to see the exact path and most importantly read the national weather services updates every hour. I didn't lose power until the storm was only 70 miles away from us. By then, because of you, I knew how strong the winds were, where we were located in the storms path, what category it was and most importantly; that the odds of us dying were still conceivable; but highly unlikely unless a tornado hit. Peace of mind is an incredibly valuable gift when you are in such a dire situation. Thank you for creating the most amazing app. We will forever be grateful.

Best weather app of 6 or 7 I've tried.

I'll just say that I liked this app so much that within a day I went ahead and bought the ad free version. Just take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with the controls, once you learn them, the app is easy and powerful. Ad free is paid annually, but you get both the phone and pad versions with one subscription. My favorite weather app, I don't even use the other ones anymore.

Update June 25, 2017: Well, WU (Weather Underground) did away with the ad-free version of Storm in favor of their new WU app. That's a shame. I tried the newer app, even paid for the ad-free version, but it just doesn't compare to Storm. As much as I hate ads, I prefer Storm with ads over WU without ads. I wish they would go back to letting me pay to get rid of the ads.
(OK, never mind! I just tried what kcousins said, and it works! Pay for the WU app, then sign into Storm using your WU account, ads gone! 😄 Thanks, kcousins!)

Best weather app for weather dorks!

I'm a weather dork. Love tracking storms and getting all the data I can. I already liked the WU app quite a bit. Any weather app that easily gives you a link to the NWS scientific discussion is taking weather seriously. The new storm app is outstanding for going in and quickly filtering the data you want overlayed on an easily navigable map in past looped time, future! (It will extrapolate cell trajectory based on current wind and everything) and best of all, realtime access to local Doppler radars. This is unfiltered data with base reflectivity and velocity available. You can see it rotating! I can see how this might be a bit much for someone coming from Apple weather info, but if you dork out on weather this is freakn awesome. Track severe thunderstorm cells with accuracy in meters, not miles. Props to WU for making this!
