Journalists take full advantage of the iPhone and iPad camera in gathering and producing news reports with iENG.
Capture, transcode, and send video and stills back to the newsroom quickly and at a quality that YOU determine. Support for email, FTP (preferred), Dropbox and Google Drive export. Posting directly to Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube is also available.
Designed for use by professional journalists and videographers in either print or television broadcast news environments.
Capture from the back camera in 16:9 landscape mode with a warning if you are holding the device in a manner which will provide inverted video when ingested in certain news editing systems.
External preview monitors are accommodated for 'stand ups' and for help in framing the video when the camera needs to be held in an awkward position (appropriate Apple external video adapter cables required along with a monitor. NTSC composite, VGA, HDMI all supported).
Media from your Camera Roll can also be exported from iENG as desired.
Video files exported by iENG use h.264 and AAC compression with a Quicktime .mov file extension. Still images are in .jpg format. Files are automatically given names that reflect the date and time of export.
File naming allows for a reporter name and event slug to be added for improved workflow.
Requires access to your camera roll, and therefore also your location data via location services.
