iFromage: wine and cheese parings

Totally not worth the $2.99. No brain wines, no real description of cheeses. Wines are generic in varietal, you cannot compare which wines specifically are good with a specific cheese. If you already have favorites cheeses, and they are specialized, or if you are looking for a particularly good pairing this will not tell you...just a laundry list of cheeses or wines. I tried it on a whim, wanting to see if it knew more than I did. I am not a connoisseur, but this app is stupider than I am. Backgournd: I visit cheese shops and specialty grocery store departments at least 1 a week, try new cheeses, get recs from wine buyers or stewards in restaurants. If you are at this level, you are smarter than the app too. If you want to know if swiss cheese goes with white wine, this can illuminate that problem for you.

Absolutely incredible selection of cheeses are listed together with an extensive selection of wines. I was really surprised that every cheese I had ever heard of or seen in delicatessen cheese cases were listed. This is a truly superb application and well worth the inexpensive price.

iFromage is useful and well worth the investment to own. I'm somewhere between being a beginner and an expert when it comes to the world of wines and cheeses, so I decided to get it. One can never stop making new discoveries, especially in this department! iFromage will be a convenient resource when I'm at a restaurant, in the cheese aisle or wherever cheese and wine can be found. The interface is very easy to use...look-up is a snap. The inventory of wines and cheeses is extensive.
