What's New in Version 3.2.1
Miscellaneous Bug Fixes.
I'm glad that they've improved the Bluetooth connection; the app connects much easier now, plus the iGrill has a pretty decent range.
The home screen is worthless and somewhat confusing. At first it looks like the place where you select what to connect, but it is really consists mostly of links to advertise Webers stuff. The connection is made pretty much automatically. Just remember to do the linking through the app, not the Settings menu. If you go through the Bluetooth setting, you'll likely need to go back and "forget" that connection.
The graph is a marvelous way to track meat temp and/or grill ambient temp, but you'll need great eyesight or a magnifier to see the labels, which don't get bigger when the graph is expanded.
Alarm setup could be more intuitive, but once you get used to it, it's relatively painless. You can set a range for ambient temp or a max temp for doneness. A separate alarm can be set for each probe.
I was really disappointed with my first iGrill because Bluetooth connection would break for no reason. However, it turns out that the iGrill was faulty, not the app or the phone. My new one works great with my iPhone 7 plus.
Works fine for me.
It seems this doesn't work for many folks but it works fine on my iPhone 7 running iOS 10.3.2. The app loaded up quickly upon downloading and I went to the iGrill2 tab which is what I have. It immediately found my device and paired. It took me less than 30 seconds to do all of this after the download.
Later in my cook when I went back to load it up, it immediately reconnected in 2 seconds. I went back again later and it didn't even need to reconnect. Both my probe temperatures were right there and right on. I'm about 25 feet from my device which is outside attached to my smoker.
So far so good.
Widget doesn't work at all
The app itself is very handy for telling you the temperature of your meat when you're in the house. Alarms could be a little bit more intrusive to interrupt your activity so you don't burn your food. But the widget is totally nonfunctional. It didn't work in the version before this and it still doesn't work now. It says "unable to load".
