AMAZING FLIGHT SIM RACING!!!
Game runs great and super smooth!!! I think it's an incrediblly beautiful game with a fairly decent flight model. Great to start on Easy setting until you get used to it a bit, but the flight controls are very good. I'm using the Logitech game pad and the planes maneuver seamlessly through the courses. I like how the brake control lets you maneuver with lots of control over your aircraft. In my opinion; if you like any kind of flight simulator type experience and especially aircraft racing; this is a very, very beautiful game. Very well done as far as control is concerned. Of course you have to use proper acceleration/deceleration when negotiating corners and flying near objects, but tons of great fun!!!! I wish to thank the developers for making the flight path guides "Blue" in color instead of the normal red. It really helps thosse of us who are red color blind. And that makes it usable for nearly all of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish more game developers would realize this major oversight. No negative issues at all with this game running early 2008 Mac... smooth as silk. If you like, or even think you would like; a flight experience that's just plain fun, give this game a try for sure. Again, satisfyingly fun flight racing sim!!!!!!!
Feeling ripped off
This game feels like a big rip-off. Although I know it’s detecting my joystick (a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) because I have set buttons for acceleration and brake, it won’t let me program the pitch and roll axes in. This is ridiculous for a game that claims joystick compatibility. The overall quality of the game itself does not feel worthy of my four dollars, or anybody’s four dollars for that matter. If anybody posts a review with instructions on how to set up a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, it will be much appreciated. I would use keyboard controls, but I cannot get the Y axis to invert no matter whether or not the box for “Y axis invert” is selected. The checkboxes are unconventional in their appearance, meaning that it’s difficult to know when something is on. I would happily change my rating to four stars if the joystick and checkbox problems are fixed.
Mobile quality gaming... for your desktop!
Bought this game on a whim; it looked like a half-way decent air racing game, and it wasn't terribly expensive.
That's all it is; half-way decent.
The graphics are what you'd expect from an iPhone game: large polygons, low resolution. The game mechanics are acceptable, and smooth, but the craft behave nothing like real aircraft; arcade physics are in play here. This is not a flight simulator, by any stretch, despite its billing as "THE RACING 3D FLIGHT SIMULATOR" up there. ^^^
You are faster than your opponents from race one. It gets a little harder later on, but for the most part you are battling more with the sluggish turns and narrow canyons than you are with your opponents. The AI seems pretty unaggressive.
