Has all the basics, but could be better

This app is one I've never had a problem with. The ordering is mostly smooth, straightforward, your payment details are saved, plus, you can walk right in and pick up your sandwich, no waiting, no need to pay at the register.

There are two things about the app I don't like, however. First, the available time you can choose to pick up is a lot like the "order for later" function on other apps. You have to choose a time 25-30 minutes after your order time. Sometimes the order is done early, but that raises obvious problems for a place that serves mostly hot sandwiches. The app needs an ASAP function. For bonus points, it should have an order progress tracker

Second drawback is the menu. Apparently, Ike's has tons of sandwiches that can be made off-menu, but it almost seems like a state secret what the unlisted options are. Sure, the menu on the store wall can only be so big, but an app with virtually unlimited "wall space" has no such excuse. Let's see the true, full menu in all its glory

Overall, it's a good app that I plan to keep using, but it could be a great app that I plan to continue using

Charged several times for same sandwich

Last weekend, I ordered a delicious Patrick Marleau from their Hillsdale/Ross Ave location. App timed out when ordering 3 times in a row and did not give me a confirmation that my order had been processed. Checked my email a little later and the charges had actually gone through. Spoke with two employees and they said they didn’t have access to remove the extra orders from the system. Had to spend 20 min with credit card company to dispute duplicate charges. Will not use the app again.



I find it deplorable that the customer should have to take on the responsibility of this additional charge when it should be the sole responsibility of Ike’s. Then to add insult, the company states at the end of purchase that in order for the customer to be returned the surcharge they are to ‘simply’ inform the cashier or worker to do so. How repugnant and arrogant. So you redirect the social implication in that situation onto the customer for something that is your initial responsibility? Disgusting. It only paints the customer heartless for asking that charge be retroacted. What a shameful business tactic.…
