Very addicting, with smooth graphics and gameplay. It's pretty well balanced if you fight smart (not just recklessly button mashing). Occasionally, there are typos in the dialogue, but nothing big and I don't really mind.
Although you don't get much gold in earlier levels, I find that monster drops tend to be better than expensive, store-bought equipment. Thing is, since all my equipment is magic/rare/epic, I hardly buy anything from the merchant save for a few potions. Now my level 54 assassin has a surplus 100k+ of gold...and I'm not sure how to use it. :P
The difficulty jump from Adventure World to Nightmare World is a bit much, but nothing I can't handle after some grinding and a few upgrades.
Movement buttons take a while to get used to, since everything is fast-paced. Jumping mechanics could use some improvement.
Lastly, it's a great game, but I think more help should be given to players newer to RPGs regarding equipment, skills, etc. I still regret how I spent some of my earlier skill points, and never quite got into the refining/socketing system with the blacksmith guy - namely because when I try to refine a weapon, it usually gets destroyed...and I decided it wasn't worth finding out what a successful end result is like.
Still, the game is very fun for an experienced RPG gamer like me. Five stars, cause I love it.
This game has huge potential. First off however, I have to say that a TON of the elements in this game feel ripped off from Zenonia. That aside, the game has a ton of different weapons and armor to find, and lots of large areas to explore. I've been playing RPGs for a long time and this one will keep you busy for many hours.
All that being said...here's what you need to know before buying the game. The translations are absolutely horrible. Half the time you can't even figure out what the characters are trying to say. I can live with that, however, there are a ton of bugs in the game, however, that really detract from gameplay. I have a cash our purchased item that has the fairy auto use potion whenever youre low, however, I've died a TON of times where she didn't use a potion at all. For an item that is 8000 cash (roughly 7 dollars USD) it should ALWAYS work. Secondly, stuff will randomly disappear from my inventory. Namely...my star book. There have been misc things that just disappear, but that was the most noticeable. Whenever I try to sell something from my second inventory page, it's broken and won't sell. There are hidden paths in the game that you can find...some work and some don't. (yes I know some are locked....but the ones I'm talking about are NOT locked.). Little things like that are just plain irritating on an otherwise great game. Wish they would get that stuff fixed. Until then...no 5 star review for you.
Cute but flawed
With all the 5 * ratings and it being free I expected a little more. The game itself has a huge learning curve for the uninitiated. There's no point in saving your progress. If you die you give up exp and gold or use the kits that you must pay real money for. My biggest complaint though were the buggy controls. I found myself sprinting without trying and in some highly populated areas jumping was like a poor episode of the Matrix. If you're looking for a good way to waste some time this is good. Otherwise play something a little less austere and with better English translations. Being called lad when you're playing a lass makes you think someone was a closeted cross dresser when they wrote it.
