What's New

Version 18.6.0

Have you ever wondered what your optimal cadence is during a run? Now you can figure it out with your UA HOVR connected footwear! Try out our new cadence calculator to discover your target cadence range for your desired pace.

Hoping to delight the masses with this one - we've improved basic editing and navigation functionality on the logging and editing workout screens! Tapping between fields while the keyboard is expanded, using expected keyboard keys to navigate, and fields staying in view as they're being edited are some basic functionality improvements we made to a screen that probably comes up frequently for most of our users.

We also fixed some high profile bug fixes:
- Connection with MyFitnessPal now works with Facebook
- Improved connection with heart rate monitors
- App no longer freezes when importing multiple shoe workouts

Map My Ride Unreliable

I’ve used the free version of this app well over a year now. If you are going to use for shorter rides where there is good coverage, it’s fine. But hit the wrong button by accident and it aborts the whole exercise segment. It’s recent upgrade adding new buttons hasn’t helped but added confusion. I lost both of my last 23 mile rides, because the first time I didn’t like the picture it took and the language deleting didn’t say it would delete the ride. Today I had the app closed but operating and when I hit a button to continue, or so I thought, it started a whole new route without asking if I wanted to save the old one. I ride on rail-to-trails and have also had occasional times the app would not sync. I am glad of the manual option, speed function, and gps catch-up that figures out if you rode a bit but forgot to unpause and figures in the mileage in when you do. But I think also more than one pic should be allowed and the major flaw is no BACK UPS!!!!! If you don’t make it to the end and sync, your ride is lost-you can add a ride manually but without the cool maps. Remember GPS also uses lots of phone battery power.

Adequate but not great

The basic functions are all there & in some cases too many (music & sharing). The average speed is typical lower than my other devices coupled to my wheel. The app appears to calculate average speed by dividing the gps distance by the time; the issue is the timer keeps running for awhile before stopping on auto pause. It also makes the app’s graphs look wonky.
Their heart monitor works well with the app. The only issue is on a cool windy day with just a thin jersey on, the wind dries the skin near the sensors and the heart jumps up & inaccurate.
Whenever you get a new version, check your settings. Sometimes they get reset and you don’t realize it until a ways into the ride.
Is an adequate app. Prefer my old Strava app in many cases.
The app is also a battery hog. For rides over 2 hours, take a backup battery and have attached during ride.

224 workouts 2,970 total miles!

Zero Turn

I can't tell you about other apps, but I can tell you, I use this app almost every day. It works. It would has glitched but I think it was a server issue. The key is if you're riding, ride consistently and use the app. Explore it's options to see if they serve you. I don’t use all of them. I use to weigh 330, I'm at 250 now. My goal is 200. I use this app with Fitbit and UA's MyFitnessPal.

I’d like to add this is part of my life, I try to get the most of it I can and this app and sore muscles let me know I’m heading somewhere. Don’t know where that will be or when this ride called life will end but I’m enjoying it as much as I can. Get out there, ride!
