Version 3.2 add 100 new MCQs written by Matthew Jarocki - a 4th year medical student at the University of Manchester. I've also fixed a bug submitted by a user on our website in one of the Physiology questions.

Version 3.1 adds 127 high quality MCQs aimed at medical students written by Javin Sandhu a medical student at Manchester. They all have high quality answers to help you learn from.

Version 3 brings a radical change to iMCQs. Instead of publishing our question sets separately under different app names we have decided to amalgamate them all in one universal app and reduce the price!

We have included all the questions from iMCQs in Physiology, Biochemistry, Dermatology, General Surgery, Pain Medicine and General Medicine giving over 1200 questions in one app for a low price! In the next few weeks we are planning on adding more questions to add even more value!

The app works for medical students, junior doctors and GPs. Just do the questions relevant to you.

The app has a redesigned simplified UI and some simple analytics to help you know how well you are doing. I was always taught that knowing how good a guesser i was - was key to scoring well in MCQ exams. Often you think its one of two answers - lucky candidates tend to choose the right one at that point. Of course knowing the right one is the better way but often its an educated guess.

The app still has hundreds of photos, ECGs, and radiographs for you to interpret. The questions are the same as the original apps at the moment. The original apps often gave random questions rather than just listing them all so you might find that one question might give the answer to another but it still gives you experience of the type of questions that might be asked.

We are keen for feedback. If you find any errors please get in touch. If you would like to write questions we are happy to credit you in the app and discuss payment for 50+ questions. I have several authors lined up at present but more are welcome.

Ratings and Reviews

Brilliant medical MCQ app with excellent clinical scenarios

Initial experience:
Very stable and responsive program, easy installation.
High-res clinical disease (zoomable) images are brilliant in variety & accuracy.
Communication with Developer has been top-notch
Testing format is quite unique and takes great advantage of iPhone/Ipod Touch platform with several features

Unique features to love:
Excellent MCQ Phrasing with diligence taken towards presenting 'real world' clinical scenarios closely mirroring examination style questions to help re-inforce
Real-time question by question evaluation of answers with a full break-up of subject scoring at the end of the test.
Testing mode can be changed at whim.
Based on award winning medical questions book.
Each question presented has it's relative subject (eg. Dermatology, Medicine, etc) being tested stated on the top border for quick reference.
Best Feature: Clinical images of disease are presented in every test question and are fully zoomable while answering questions, this offers twice the benefit in confirming diagnosis and familiarizing clinical disease with pictures.
Answers are detailed enough to help re-familiarize yourself with the salient points of each disease but succinct enough not to be forgotten or take away from the testing process.
Regular expansion of questions and images promised by author
Unique features which take advantage of the platform: eg: Shake to clear test, real time evaluations.

What Could Be Worked On:
Ability to re-examine question & image once answer is submitted by user (clicking Next)
Need for a manual mode which allows user to go forwards, backwards & to perhaps skip or revise certain questions if chosen to do so

Suggestions to make this app a full -featured reference for medical students & doctors alike:
An individual option for viewing an "image bank" from the images presented with questions.
Logging of each testing attempt if possible whcih can be as simply as date time etc or more richer eg. a graph of performance over time with break up of subjects.

Closing thoughts:
Just the feature of high-res zoomable pictures of clinical disease alone is worth the cost of this app. Additionally I found the questions very well thought out & refined in style and focused towards reinforcing knowledge for exams like the USMLE.
You can tell from the get-go that a lot of thought and work was put into making this app work well in all aspects of knowledge accumulation, testing strategies and overall app usability.
A bargain for the price and though I'm using this for my USMLE exams I feel I will be referring to it in my clinical years as well!

i cannot even put this on ipod touch. I paid for it and this is not fair. I think itunes should do something about this or we should quit buying anything henceforth.
