How to Kill An App - In One Easy Step
There is one reason people choose this over the sea of other Imgur browsers (me included) and that is for the ability to enter your own subreddits. The genius that recommended removing that feature (ie: THE ONE feature people choose your app for ) needs to be fired. As a business you have to have a tiny handle on who your users are and how they use your product right? It's absolutely amazing that this can happen. In summary, this phrase was actually vocalized by the devs at a meeting some point in recent time "On our next upgrade I would like to take out the one feature that our entire user base uses, causing them to delete our app switching to a competitor." And amazingly, that wasn't the silliest thing said at that meeting. Unbelievably someone said "yes I believe that is a good idea"
This is the clearest case of app suicide I have ever seen. The one star stays until it's "upgraded" and the feature is replaced. But alas the fact that they pull a bone headed move like this makes the likelihood of this happening slim at best.
Why fix something that isn't broken?
I rarely write or give reviews for apps, but I will make an exception for this. Why can't we just favorite subreddits anymore? I'm not interested in the front page or any of that garbage, I'm only interested in a select few subreddits. Why on earth was there a need to change that? At least introduce some sort of bookmark feature so I don't have to scroll down an enormous list of garbage.
Recent update killed this app.
1) My favorites list is gone.
2) I have to scroll through a giant, yet horribly incomplete, list of subs to find something.
3) I can't even manually enter a sub to find it - there is no mechanism for looking at subs that aren't on the list if 'approved' subs.
The whole thing reeks of nanny-state censorship. Change the app back, please. I don't need anyone else telling what is okay for me to look at on the internetz.
