A Latin Vocabulary Trainer App – now with custom learning packages!

The Imperator Trainer links vocabulary learning to a state-of-the-art electronic medium. Its purpose is to facilitate the Learning of Latin vocabulary, removing the need to fill file upon file with painstakingly written index cards. You can use it at your desk at home, or during any spare moment on the train or the bus.

The App can be used on its own, together with normal text books or in conjunction with our other app, the Imperator Latin Quiz.

The Learning Effect
The App works like a card index. First of all, vocabulary cards are either selected from the standard pack, or created by the user as required. The first card is displayed, turned and then filed away as 'unknown' or 'known'. The next one follows automatically, continuing in the same way until the last vocabulary card in the pack is reached. Unknown vocabulary is retested at the end.
Learning is possible in both directions: Latin-English/English-Latin and Latin-German/German-Latin.
The vocabulary packs have an easy-to-use learning control which can be reset at any time so you can start learning all the vocabulary in the pack from scratch again.

The Database
The database has 5720 words and is structured according to academic knowledge. The contents and scope of the individual levels are oriented towards school text books and university vocabulary. Levels 1-5 contain all the vocabulary that a school pupil will learn in preparation for a Latin proficiency certificate; levels 6-9 cover vocabulary that undergraduates learn during their studies up to master's degree or state examination level.

You can use our Imperator Latin Quiz, that you can buy at the stores, to test your knowledge of each level in a fun way. The levels are divided into vocabulary packs, each containing 25-125 items of vocabulary.

The do-it-yourself vocabulary pack function, which will enable you to make your own tailor-made vocabulary packs, will be incorporated into the first update, which will become available very soon.

The available languages are: Latin-English/English-Latin
and Latin-German/German-Latin.
