Description
This app powers Improv Everywhere's Mp3 Experiment project. The app will synchronize playback of a custom audio file for all participants who have downloaded it and joined the event. Users simply need to have the app open at the event's start time, and the audio will automatically begin playing in sync.
The Mp3 Experiment is a participatory audio adventure where attendees download an audio file and listen to synchronized secret instructions in a public space. Hilarity ensues as participants carry out ridiculous, synchronized instructions delivered to their headphones via narrator "Steve" and everyone else tries to figure out what in the world is going on.
We stage a new Mp3 Experiment in New York each year and also tour the project to college campuses and festivals around the world.

Needs work, but great idea
I started the app literally a second before it was suppose to start and it would not start for me at all. Just said thank you for participating. The app should start are the correct time and sync with everyone at the same time. It worked for my cousin but when she locked her iPhone it turned off and she went back in and had the same message. Luckily she downloaded the back up. Pandora the radio app, for example, plays music and does not shut off when locking your iPhone. This year was my first year as was the app and I look forward to it working better for next year! Great idea!
Doesn’t Work
was required to get this app for a class. i downloaded the day ahead like recommended. when i got to where the event was taking place, no ones app would load the audio. completely ruined the experiment and the whole purpose of the experiment because our professors had to play the audio through speakers.
So much fun!
I look forward to the Mp3 Experiment every summer in NYC! It’s always a joyous blast. The new version of the app worked perfectly this year. Thank you!
