Review of the app
This is a review of the app, not Indiegogo itself. Many of the negative reviews are from contributors who either never received a product or are unhappy with the product. If you understand how crowdfunding campaigns work, you understand there is an associated risk in backing any campaign. With that said, the app needs work. The main issue I have is that once you navigate into the comments section, there doesn't seem to be a way to navigate back to the main campaign overview page. You basically have to restart the app and navigate your way back to the campaign page, which is extremely frustrating. I don't recall having this issue with previous versions of the app. Please fix this.
Beware
Do not contribute to a campaign through Indiegogo. I contributed to two separate projects and have had trouble receiving perks, heck, receiving communication from the organizers. Those issues are on the campaigns themselves but when I should be able to turn to the Indiegogo Support team for help they let me down. All they will do is tell you they will contact the campaign owners to "remind them of their responsibilities to keep you and contributors updated on the status of their project" and give you an email address to contact the campaign owners yourself. How is that suppose to work when the campaign owners are not communicating in the first place?!? At least Kickstarter and Pledgemusic look after their respective contributors. Pledgemusic will even give you a refund if your perks don't arrive on time. I wish the same could be said for Indiegogo.
Incomplete, needs iPad version
The app, as it stands, is good for browsing Indiegogo campaigns, but not for managing contributions after you have supported a project. There does not appear to be any way to edit your shipping address. Tapping on "My Contributions" and then selecting the project just takes you to the project's page.
If you view the app on an iPad, you will get the iPhone version scaled to fit your display. There is no separate iPad version. Worse yet, it only displays in Portrait mode, regardless of your actual screen rotation.
As long as Indiegogo has been around, I would have expected a much more mature app. Looks like I will be using the website rather than this app to manage my contributions.
